I installed the 12VoltSolutions module recently and it works great with the oem key fob. There is a bluetooth module you can add on that can provide network enabled remote start from anywhere using your phone. The key fob alone is good enough for me.
what year is your nx? Also does the engine shut off once the door is opened?
Cool I didn't know you can add other brand module. Do you know if Fortin Evo-Start2 will work? This one doesn't have a yearly fee.
I don't know too much about Fortin's stuff. I have a kit on my Scion but it's basic 2-way not cellular based. I'll have to look into it, have not seen any cellular based modules without a fee.

Any Lexyota with PTS/smart key will shut off when any door is opened. Been like this since I've installed remote starts with my first smart key in 2009 on a Venza. BUT, on my NX for some reason it does not shut off when I open the trunk, not sure if that's by design or I discovered a loop hole, either way trunk is NOT easy to enter nor get to the front from lol
