Default Lexus NX 200t F-sport (2016) front license plate tow hitch install

Hi all, I’m new to the forum and I haven’t found anything on this yet, is there a way to mount the license plate to one of the two front bumper tow hitch placement holes without drilling into the grille? It seems as though the grille portion that is blocking those two points can be removed, but I don’t know if it’s via some elbow grease or if you have to remove the front bumper and remove a screw or two that may be holding it in place from the inside. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

thank you

they're on Ebay or amazon. I got one probably the 1st week after I bought mine, in feb, but still haven't gotten my plates since everything is still shut down...

The Big Bolt screws into the tow hitch, Once you pull that plastic piece out of course, I can't tell you how to do that because again, I haven't gotten that far, but with the bumper sensors, this plate has all those different holes to move entire plate out of the way of any of those sensors and the curved holes allow the plate to be angled along with the curved bumper

Here's my write-up on how to install a license plate on the NX without drilling. It doesn't use the tow hook area, but the traditional mounting area... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...-drilling.html

FWIW, on my F-Sport UX, I removed (temporarily) the stock license frame mount and the holes were really not noticeable. With all the mesh and black color, the holes were practically hidden/camouflaged.

Also FWIW, on my 2020 NX fsport, which looks the same as the 2016 grill wise, you can remove those tow hook caps with just a little wiggling around. I was able to get mine out pretty easily and without any tools. Let me know if you got it out!

This is a possibility, there is also an electric remote control one. I don’t have this and therefore cannot recommend it, but you could check into it.

Here's mine! Had to move it maybe a 1/4 inch off towards the left side of the car to keep the front parking sensor from going off at 5mph or slower. Now neither sensor on either side of the plate sets them off. I also had a clear vinyl fuel line hose with double sided tape holding the angle of the plate bracket as it still likes to swing down if you purposely make it(even though I tightened it very tight) but also will keep the bracket/ plate from ever hitting or scratching the bumper.
Can ya guess what the meaning of the custom plate is? 😁
