Question 2020 lexus 300h system remind on with battery pack plug in to dashcam

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone have experience with this issue i am having. I have a battery pack that charges my dashcam when the car is off but some reason my Lexus doesn't want to lock or fully turn off the system ( car system) when the battery pack kick in and power the dashcam.
The way I ran the dashcam is a cable from the fuse to dashcam and battery pack to dashcam. the dashcam two power input that allows me to do this on the dashcam( due to a GPS module) and power the dash.

I did a similar thing( might be on a different fuse) on a 2016 Toyota sienna and there is no issues with that.

Any help will be appreciated
Thanks!

The battery is feeding power back into the car you'll need a couple of
schottky diodes schottky diodes
to solve this.

Depending on how you wired this you may need 1 diode or two I can't be sure by your description. Diode=current flows only one way to put diode between power from the car and to the battery and/or dash cam.

If I was doing this I would have the battery charge whenever the car was on, not when the car was off (switched). So power from the car into the diode then to battery, battery power goes to dash cam. Do you have any kind of battery management circuit to charge the battery? What kind of battery exactly is it, one with built in power management?

there is another cable charging the battery pack when the car is on, which cut off the power when the car is off. there is no battery management circuit. There is two battery, one is the 12v(that powers the car) and the battery pack ( that only charge the dashcam and being charged by the car) . From the fuse end, there is two 5amp fuses( total of 10 amp), which power what the old fuse was powering and the dashcam.

As mentioned the battery pack is sending back power to the car. It is a known issue with many cars. When you leave a phone on the power outlet no issues but if you leave a battery pack connected you get issues with the alarm, locks etc.

I haven’t seen the power outlet wiring diagram for the 2020 ES 300h but I bet it is getting power from the IG ON and therefore when power goes back to the car the modules powered to IG ON like the power locks are malfunctioning. In summary, the diode should be between the second 5 amp fuse and battery pack assuming the dash cam does not send any power back at any time on the other circuit.
