Default Brake Pads & Rotors

Need to replace pads and rotors on NX 300. I will be keeping this car for a long time. I found someone to do the labor for me. Should I buy the parts from a Lexus Dealer, or are there better (more durable) ones that I can buy? Also, do I just buy front/rear pads/rotors, or are there other parts I should buy? The guy that's gonna do the labor installs brakes regularly, so he has generic parts, but are there other Lexus-specific parts I should be buying for the installation?

Thanks for any/all help and advice! :-)

I am sure you will receive a ton of suggestions. Most will advise on aftermarket parts, stating that these are superior to OEM.
My personal experience is that OEM parts always better and last longer. This is applies to brake components or any other parts, for that matter. I see no reason to use aftermarket brake pads and rotors, since on several of my cars these parts lasted over 70K miles, or even better. So, my advise - buy OEM. Cheers.

If you have no issues with the stopping feel and power of OEM, go OEM, it will be worth the money and peace of mind. But also, don't just shop at your local dealer, compare prices with other Lexus dealers and Toyota (if you can cross reference) and see who has the best prices with shipping.

I'm also due soon for all 4 corners, will be trying aftermarket for the fronts only, rears will be all OEM. Going with Bosch rotors and Hawk performance pads as a trial run.

If he's accustomed to doing brakes often, then I can't think of any other Lexus OEM parts that you might need.
You didn't say what year your car is, how many miles are on the car, or how many miles you've driven since the last brake service.
I ALWAYS use OEM brake components - you can price them at either a Lexus or Toyota dealer.
