Trickle charge 12v battery
Hi, all. For my 2018 NX300h I'm looking for the best way to trickle charge my battery if it has drained out.
1. How do I manually open the trunk to get to the battery if there's no power?
2. Can I connect my trickle charger to the jump start spot under the hood instead?

All of our cars have a trickle charger pigtail on every 12v battery, whether it's under the hood or in the trunk, the summer cars are plugged in all the time until they're taken out, and our daily vehicles parked outside, don't have them plugged in but are ready to go so. In this instance our daily vehicles are the UX and NX hybrids and both 12v batteries are in the trunk. If immobile for over a week, typically I may connect the wires up so they trickle charge but haven't needed to.
As far as if your car battery is drained, both hybrid vehicles can be jump started under the hood, there is a spot specifically where you can, and it shows you in the owner's manual, so no need to jump start from the 12v battery in the trunk.
Key note, you can jump start your vehicle with any other car, but do not jump start another car with your hybrid vehicle.
Edit: Quick video reference, not a NX but it is the same concept for jumping your NX

By pigtail you mean connectors that stay on the battery? I've got that ability with the NOCO Genius 10 charger I just bought, and I guess I can have it sitting in my trunk with the pigtail snaked down to the battery, but can't leave it plugged in to a socket because the trunk will be closed.
I don't believe I can pigtail to the place under the hood because that + terminal has a cover on it, and I don't know if you can charge through there anyway (I know you can jump start there, though)
That leads to my other question: if the 12v is drained, how do I manually open the trunk? I've got the manual key for the driver door but the trunk is a mystery.
I don't worry about jump starting - we have CAA for that if needed. But I was hoping my new charger will let me keep the 12v battery topped up to avoid parasitically draining it (we drive the car infrequently)
