Just a little PSA on something I’ve never experienced before.
Extreme cold and snow lately, went out to clean the car, low and behold, no fluid coming out for the front windshield.
went back out, made sure the washer jets were indeed clear, rub them with my warm hand, but still no fluid on both front jets.
I can hear the washer motor working, tried both rear and headlight washers, working fine.
Thought maybe a diverter valve issue I’ve heard about on other vehicles. Check the forum, no similar problems, check the internet, just the usually remedies including taking a needle to the hole in the jet face.
Sure enough, as I’m penetrating the hole with my needle I can feel ice crystals loosen up and voila! Problem fixed.
Never had that happen in all my years but yesterday was a really quick freeze after that rain we had.
Live and learn.

With how cold some areas got with this polar vortex, it is important to check the freeze rating of your windshield washer fluid. The good ones go up to -20 degrees F but the cheaper ones can only go to 20 degrees F, but even at -20, my area went well below that, luckily I didn't use it or drive much.
