Another Oil Change Question - Lexus NX300 2020
I bought a preowned Lexus NX with 47k miles on it from an Acura dealer. Shop notes from the dealer say no oil change was done. Looking at the Carfax, it says last oil change was done at 44k. Okay, that makes sense.
However, in looking at the Carfax, it shows the previous oil change before 44k was done at 41k miles. The sticker on the car says last oil change was done at 41k as well, and no record inside the vehicle of 44k oil change.
Would Carfax mistakenly have reported the oil change at 44k? Should I assume it was last done at 41k and go get one ASAP? This would annoy me, because then I would have to get one at 50k again to make sure the maintenance schedule is properly aligned. It has a turbo engine FWIW, so definitely needs regular maintenance.

If it were me, if the CarFax showed that the oil change was done at a LEXUS dealership, I would give that a lot of weight. On the other hand, if it was listed as Joe-Shmo's Auto Repair, I would have less faith in it. Regardless, I would still take a look at the oil via your dipstick to ensure it is at the correct level, and that it is not TOO dirty/dark. Otherwise, I would simply change the oil/filter (as Roscol suggested).
I have the same exact vehicle. I change my oil/filter every 5k. This oil/filter change is the EASIEST of any vehicle I have ever owned. I don't eve have to lift up the front - I can access the drain plug and filter canister very easily by just lying flat on the ground. The very FIRST time I changed it I did elevate the vehicle, just to be able to familiarize myself with the areas. I use Mobil-1 Fully Synthetic and OEM filters. Oil from COSTCO, on sale for ~$31 for 6 1-quart containers. Filters readily available on eBay or Amazon for appx. $4-$5 apiece, in lots of 6.
I buy the oil from COSTCO when it is on sale, and I tape a small piece of paper on it that tells me the date I purchased it. I currently have 6 boxes (each having 6 1-quart containers). I also have 5 filters left. VERY EASY!
