Default Wiper Blade Replacement non OEM

I'm interested to hear from those who have replaced the original blades units with after market ones. Did the Lexus accept the new blades easily? If so--what brands do you favor? I live in the Pacific Northwest and lots of rain in winter months is part of the deal so wiper blades need to be kept fresh (at least for me). Thanks.

I don’t see any issues replacing the wipers with aftermarket ones. Never done so myself but it’s just the normal hook attachment. I usually use aftermarket blades for the winter and OEM in the summer and never had any problems

You know you can buy refills and replace just the rubber strip attached to the blade.

OEM is the best at wiping imo.

Yes—I do. And that’s an option depending on how the OEMs perform and last. But I assume most owners know that and if they opt for other brands instead I’d be interested in knowing about it.

Interesting thread. I’d like to know too. I’ve never replaced just the strip on any car I’ve ever had, but I hear it’s fairly common for Lexus. Is it just OEM is better, and if so why? Other reasons?

OEM is just rebranded of another brand, which is most likely Denso, but don’t know 100%.

In my 2015 RX, replacing just the strip is a lot less expensive. Refills for all three wipers is only $32.

Are you telling me there's a Lexus OEM wiper blade? Rav4 site just opened a thread on OEM washer fluid. smh.

I live in Florida and the sun eats wiper blades. If the sun doesn't get them the salt air will. I change my blades every 6 months. Always have on every vehicle I have ever owned.

I buy Bosch Icon. I think they advertise them as winter blades but they work great in Florida heat and sun. Having said that, they have a new one I've recently seen. They are Bosch Spectrum DirectFit Hybrid: Bosch Spectrum DirectFit™ Hybrid matches the same blade technology and connection fitment to deliver factory performance. The streamlined hybrid design and graphite coated natural rubber enhances wiping performance in all driving conditions. *Currently only available in the US

I will most likely try the Hybrid ones if I can find them.
