Default Wireless Charger

Wondering if Digital Key with wireless charger can be added by the dealer after delivery? I'm surprised that a wireless charger is not standard equipment in a Lexus?

I’ve asked my dealer this.

Digital key cannot be added. It needs additional hardware that needs to be from the factory for it to work with the Lexus app and card key.

You could add wireless charger, but I don’t think the cost would be worth it. You might end up paying more because of the labor they’ll charge. If you do decide to add it, make sure they install the newer model that resolves most issues with random disconnects and phones with larger camera bumps causing it to not sit as flat on the pad. However, I’d recommend going to the dealership and trying out the wireless charger before. It’s not a very fast charge due to the nature of wireless charging. Unless you just want to keep your battery topped up, you might be better off with a USB C cable.

My dealer offered me a 2024 scheduled to be built early next month. The car lacked 3 or 4 options we wanted including digital key - wireless charger -so we passed on the allocation.

The digital key and wireless charger are both features I feel that are not worth getting. unless the wireless charger can charge iPhone 13/14 with a larger hump, it's almost useless. Digital key - "if" they improve it and it works seemless, I feel it's a tech that will need a new implementation in the future.

Another reason to stick with Samsung phones. My S20 with an Otterbox case charges fine, as does my Wife's. Seems silly to restrict which car to buy based on limitations of a phone! Just my opinion, though.

Also have an IPhone 14 Plus with Otterbox case and it charges just fine. It will stop charging a bit from time to time, I think the bigger phone does not slide around as much as a smaller phone on the charging pad and helps out a bit.

So I saw this (
Amazon Amazon
) on Amazon and it looks pretty good, but no idea if it is good. Also, the picture shows that they hacked up the drive mode button/wheel. I bet install is going to be expensive as you stated. Just wanted opinions about this. Too bad my 450h+ didn't come with this. Had to get the Executive or F-Sport pkg to have it (I'm in Canada and was not willing to pay another $17k-18k).

I saw this as well. I think you need to find a mechanic that can do it for a better price than going to the dealership to get it done. I would rather just add a wireless pad on top of the door. It's a much cheaper solution.

I had the updated charger installed in my 2022 350h Luxury. I still had charging issues. This is what I've done. I like it better now, anyway, since the phone is mounted to face me.

Default Possible solution

I ordered this from Amazon. I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro with a Spigen Tough Armor Case. The wireless charger went on and off before. This seems to work.Delivery Estimate

Wireless chargers I've had in different cars were all not really suited because it takes too long to charge while usually if I'm charging in the car, I want fast charge

The wireless works fine for my phone bump and all but with wireless AA, it basically just keeps the battery charge constant and charges so slowly so if I really want to charge and not just keep my battery %, I plug in USB c cable
