Don't know about other people but I never trade in my cars. I always sell them privately myself after we take delivery of the new car.

No trade-in, no lease. Never leased a vehicle.

Same here. I have always bought cars in cash and never leased anything in my life (especially cars) except an apartment for 2 years.

Bought outright, no trade because previous RX was stolen . If I didn't have to, would not buy right now.

Sold 2nd last car "privately", but the buyer agreed to buy it from the dealership where we bought the replacement car. So effectively I found the buyer AND saved the tax on the trade. It's 13% sales tax around here, makes a big difference in the overall deal. Most would be better off trading. Helps that the prices for used cars have been stupid high for the last couple of years, particularly as there is no negotiating the price on new ones. I did manage to get a few $ off, but when we bought the last RX, there was a $4000.00 year end discount from Lexus. Not happening now!

For Ontarians it’s probably more ideal to trade in and save the tax like you said. Also now there’s more crazys out there and wouldn’t bother selling privately. Especially since they’ll offer you $1 when you’re asking for $20,000

Yup. There's one reason not to trade in, it pretty much always makes more financial sense to sell privately. But there's tons of reasons to trade it, major convenience, less tax, and safety being top ones. Money isn't everything. I suppose a few people in our area still remember that serial killer back a few years ago that decided to take out that guy selling his pickup truck privately when he took them on a test drive. The guy was quite wealthy and could easily afford it, he just thought why not just take the truck and burn the body, sounded like fun.

I thought about selling my RX privately, but I've already got enough on my plate. The dealer met my minimum (barely) so fine, take it, my time has huge value to me too.

And--if sold privately and the car starts misbehaving a week later you may have an angry whacko to deal with. Not to mention if it's 3 months or more later. Not worth it to me. Plus I'll take the tax benefit. And I got what I wanted on my trade.

Totally agree! Too dangerous in today's world to sell to a stranger, and also as pointed out, no comebacks. Traded in my UX and would like to have gotten more, but didn't think it was worth the things mentioned.

Just got a call from my SA today. My wife's 24 NX H arrived, picking it up this Sunday. Gonna fly out, enjoy couple days in sunny S. Cal and drive 400 miles back.

Yeah, that is exactly the reason why. We were initially going get the luxury trim, however we ended up getting the ultra-premium 2024 delivered on Friday(April 21), in Ontario Canada.

My dealer (US) has about a dozen 2024 NX, NX350, and NX350h. All built in Japan. Must be Canada is getting the Canadian builds?

Yeah that could be the reason why, oh well we got ours with about 5 months, which is not too bad of a wait. I was told by our dealer, we got the first delivery for the 2024 350h for that particular dealership.

2 days ago I went to pick up my wife's 2024 NX H (Japan made) two days ago, drove 400 miles back from S. Cal to N. Cal and I was not babying it going 75-80MPH average.
Filled up on Monday, took 10.6 gallons. I am impressed with average 38MPG (403 miles / 10.6 gallons). I am quite sure dealer put in 87 as well and I did fill it up with 91.
Can wait to see how she does in City.

Interesting. I avoided the hybrid because I'm a bit of lead foot on the highway (80 is my normal any time speed when traffic permits) and I'm not quite ready to change my ways. I was cautioned that a hybrid wouldn't be worth it since my driving habits would negate the hybrid benefits. I also WFH and most miles come from weekend driving so I fill up every other week generally. Saw a lot of mixed MPG reports for previous MY drivers and again, I'm not going to drive in certain conditions/parameters when there's a full moon just to gain a few more miles. All that said, I'm liking your highway MPG. Wish there was one I could have test driven to get a good feel for the engine.

How did you feel about the run flats and road noise?
