For the Modern Spare gang. I spent another $300 during the recent parts sale to test this out. I got the matching under deck trim pieces for the spare tire version of the NX trunk. Snaps into place perfectly with the remaining pieces. This allows you to reattach the back fabric of the rear seats that hangs loosely otherwise. It also has cutouts for storing all of the OEM tools should you decide to acquire them.

One caveat is that the lid cover doesn't fit with the Canadian trunk liner unless I pull the rear seats up one notch. Not an issue for most Americans since you probably won't have it.

So I've heard that the 2024 and newer hybrids have the 12v battery tucked even further to the left. Does anyone with a newer hybrid want to take a picture of the under trunk area? Curious to see if a spare would fit.

OK I guess that was wrong then. Looks to be the exact same placement.

I'm thinking about relocation the 12v so that I can accommodate the spare.

So it was parts:
64997-F6010 and 64995-F6010 ?

Also, which dealer did you get those from that had the high discount rate?

Yes those are the correct part numbers. I use Ramsey Lexus in NJ. They have one of the highest discounts in the NYC area and they don't charge sales tax. The most recent nationwide parts sale ended on April 16th, so it's just their regular discounts for now.

So around $300 for those two parts.

Yes, but that included the 15% off national sale which stacks with their usual discount. My guess is the next national sale will be around Memorial Day.

I find it interesting that my 2011 RX 450h that has the 12 volt under the rear cargo area and is less than an inch wider than the current NX 350h and 450h+ has the spare tire, jack, and tool kit with room to spare. It could (should) have happened with the current NX.

Making the cost of the spare tire we should have gotten with the car about $800. What a shame.

Manufactures try to save every single dollar when making cars, imagine how much they are saving not providing a spare with all the tools necessary to change the tire, we are talking about $1000+ per vehicle, they are saving billions by not including those

So true. For my NX350h, I purchased a jack, tools for the vehicle also.
