seat belt buzzer disable
Has anyone with a 2023 model successfully defeated the seat belt buzzer? There are several YouTubes that involve the odometer, etc., but they don't work for me. I never forget to wear a seatbelt, but sometimes moving around in the driveway, at the mailbox, or before I drive off, hate to hear that constant buzzer.

tldr: you can’t. Corporate doesn’t allow Lexus service to. But you may have different luck with different dealers. If it’s important to you, just go to all the dealers in your area and try. Or you can buy a little metal piece that pops into the seatbelt buckle and tricks the car into thinking your seatbelt is on.

A lifetime ago, I successfully defeated the seatbelt buzzer in my horrific '89 Ford Tempo by cutting and twisting together the wires in the seatbelt latch. I wonder if something similar would work in the NX?

The dealer disabled ours prior to delivery per my request.
It's in the list of personalized settings that the dealer can change (this list is for a 450h, but many items are the same between all NX models):

Yeah, that’s a bummer. If you still have energy, try calling the dealer and asking for a different person, maybe the service manager. And try calling a couple Toyota dealerships and seeing if they have any luck (just say they’re closer to you, don’t tell them that you asked Lexus already because then they’ll just say no). They have access to the same techstream software. I know it’s possible to have it done since some others have, but it’s increasingly hard for safety reasons. Best of luck and let us know the outcome.

There is a popular DIY smartphone app that can update user AND dealer only settings called Carista. If you go to their website, they list all the settings that can be changed on the 2nd gen NX (including the seatbelt warnings and # of signal flashes on lane changes, both not shown in manual). Whether you might choose to set them yourself with this app or similar or just use it as reference, up to you. It is a paid app to be able to change settings but may give you an idea of what the dealer should be able to do as well.

Ours is a 2022, so maybe they removed it for the newer ones. Definitely check out the Carista app though as a DIY option (if it shows as an option there for 2023+)
