Android Auto issues on new 2024 450h+
Went on my first long trip in my new 450h+. After a while, noticed that the android auto icons frequently don't respond. Like when I try to press the Lexus button to go back to the default lexus screens, you can see the background color of the icon space change color, so it is recognizing that you pressed there. But nothing happens. I have to press it either a couple of times or wait 5 - 15 seconds and then press it again before it will respond. Even within apps, like in Waze, I will frequently have to press some of the Waze icons (like when reporting a hazard) multiple times over 5 - 10 seconds to get them to respond.
Anybody else seen this issue? Don't know if it is a Android Auto issue or a Lexus/Android Auto integration issue. Don't have any issues with the default Lexus screens.

In general I find the touch screen to be extremely, well, touchy
I have to be very careful when touching a function area to not just press, but press and steady hold for, say, half a second so the screen registers it as a selection and NOT a move/scroll request. Even a slight wiggle of my finger or a short tap and the screen thinks I've tried to move something and not select it (and yes, the background will momentarily change to reflect it detects the touch, but misunderstands what kind of touch). It is not as forgiving as a phone especially holding my entire arm in the air trying to select something. I find this especially noticeable with Spotify. Try to pick a song from the queue with a short tap and instead I send the list whizzing, I've learned to be very deliberate and then it cooperates.

I also noticed that behavior too I think. When scrolling down the list of apps to pick an app not currently visible, when I would touch the app icon, it would scroll back up rather than activating the app. So the screen, in that case, is obviously registering it as a swipe rather than a touch. Most of the time, when my problem was happening, was resting my fingers on top of the display and just using my thumb to touch the icon (to reduce the shake from the driving). Still didn't seem to help.

Very frustrating touch screen.
I have a 450h+ and without doubt the most frustrating feature of the car is the poor touch screen response. My son has a new VW and the touch screen on that works just as well as any phone. Why can't Lexus get such an important feature correct?

I had the same issue previously but then I found a scratch in the middle of the screen.. I had to go back to the dealer to report my finding and it ended up that the film protecting the screen was not removed. Since then everything has been very smooth and very responsive.
It fooled me and the tech to begin with. I didn't see the corner edge to peel it off
You might want to check closely or have your dealer inspect or peel it off if applicable
