Can the Blind Spot Monitor issue audible signal?
On some other cars there is also an audible signal. Is that an option for the NX? I think my Nissan Leaf has that and it is not annoying - maybe it only signals if the driver flips the turn signal.

And yet there is a chime for every other warning that are meaningless. At least this would save lives. I loved it in the Mazda. Saved me many times from side swiping someone. Lexus could learn a lot from the competition.
Also, has anyone else noticed the auto braking driving assist (not dynamic cruise) slows you down way to much on turns (even at the lowest setting), yet slows you nicely when a car is ahead of you, only to let off the brakes in time to hit the car in front (you must be quick to engage the brakes yourself). Albeit at a speed under 10mph but it lulls you into thinking the car will stop (like the DRCC does do). What are thinking? It's like they only go halfway.
And since we are bringing up shortcomings, why doesn't lane control make a choice on what side of the lane to hug based on adjacent car risk, upcoming car risk and oncoming car risk. The algorithm is simple, and when going next to big trucks, it won't continue to pull you into them... or oncoming traffic in a 2 lane highway.
I expected more from Lexus. Still a beautiful car, inside and out. It's just not refined enough on the tech logic.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BLIS) is one of the critical safety features a car manufacturer can offer. To cheap out on this is almost shameful. There should be an auditable warning if you turn on your directional and if the car has a HUD that info should show up in the HUD too.
To only have the mirror light is kind of cheap.
My F-150 was also this way. Ford gave you the mirror light and that was it. In a truck the interior is so big that if you want to see if the BLIS is active you have to physically remove your eyes from the road and find the mirror and mirror warning. This is easier at night but in sunlight it sucks. I was able to tap into the BLIS wiring and add another LED light closer into the interior. This is significantly better but still not the best it could/should be.

I did a close pass on my driver's side the other day. The blind spot monitoring of course lit up but also some other active safety feature--collision warning I believe, turned on. It was audible.

My previous cars all had the sound (in addition to the little light/icon).

FYI, In all my prior contacts with Lexus, they have been unknowledgeable and time consuming without ever providing a correct answer or solution. ClubLexus has been a far better resource.

Absolutely, if you have a contact email, please post it and perhaps everyone can send them a message. Also, this is something that can be easily fixed through a software update.

Based on your comment, I may send a letter to Lexus. I must say that I expected Lexus to be much better than this (quality and service-wise). 🙁

Me too. Lexus is just a better looking and quieter Toyota. They used to be higher quality throughout. Not so much anymore. However, Toyota still makes a great car, just not as refined as it could be. Almost every day I discover deficiencies in the cars functional engineering, mostly relating to the poor software infotainment system design and function. My list of improvements grows, but no one is listening where it counts. I expected much more for the premium you pay. Good luck.

Lexus car delivery specialist told me Lexus doesn't have the audible sound because Lexus owners responding to surveys didn't want it. He said the sensitivity and brightness of the warning can be adjusted. I've found him to be a pretty straight shooter to date--but--I can't confirm this scenario.

Especially how simple the programming is to make it a choice in the menu, just like the brightness of the warning from invisible to barely visible. Let the user decide if they want a beep or not. Logic is clearly absent from much of the infotainment system, from the small type size with poor layouts to the multiple menus for simple tasks and the inability to understand voice commands. Be nice if the system could just properly prioritize which phone it connects to (Android Auto or my wife's Apple Car Play). But when it does it wrong, it only takes 6 carefully positioned touches to change it back... and some of the time it even works without having to reboot the phone and/or the infotainment system. Simultaneous blue tooth connections have been around for a decade now. Lexus, hire a programmer from this century. And why isn't there a button on AA or CP that goes direct to the Lexus menus. My Prius Prime was worlds better, and it sucked too.

One thing is obvious. Some buyers need to do much more pre-buying research. If a car is lacking so much that a buyer sees as a deal breaker after purchase...caveat emptor. If Lexus is such a crappy manufacturer...so many others are out there.

But Lexus does make great cars, poor infotainment system (one of the worst even by CR standards), but the mechanical aspects and reliability of the car are well done. At least AA and CP is wireless. Give them points for that. It just has so much room for improvement. And they could do this easily with updates, but unlikely they will.
