I can only lock or unlock doors using app.

but I have the hatch door open because I am unloading something and I don’t have my key so I only have my phone I don’t know how to make the hatch close using the phone.

?

are people still having problems with the digital key as in draining phone batteries or whatever?

You can't open or close the hatch with the phone app. Functions are limited to remote lock, unlock, start (with HVAC settings), flash lights, etc. Nothing on the phone app will physically operate anything like hatch, windows, moonroof, etc, basically what is see is what you get. Adding a digital key does not change this, it only makes the phone app act like the "no button" credit card fob (ie touch actions like opening doors and starting car).

I did have a lot of battery drain problems when I initially setup my digital key in March. It would take 30-40% of my battery by the end of the day. But these days it hardly uses any battery. So far today (about 8 hrs off charger) the Lexus app has used 0.3% of my battery.

Can't you just press the button on the hatch and close it. Or do the hokey pokey dance and use the kick feature, if you have that - but that might require a key. I know the button does not.
