During these hot days, i’ve always had my fan on, and i felt cool air coming out of the diffuser. Today i’ve noticed that the A/C light has always been off, and when i turned it on, i did not feel any difference.

So does the AC turn on automatically when I turn on the fan? without the AC light on?

I believe that as long as the Auto button is pressed that the compressor comes on whenever it needs to, based on the temperature you've set.

This is correct. You usually want auto. If it’s not on auto, then even if the AC compressor is on, the fan may be set too low, not set to recirculate, wrong vents selected, etc.

Mine does the same; I don't mind, I guess. Where is the "auto" set?

auto is all the way the the left, at the same row as the a/c button.
