Drive-start control failure on NX 350
I have been hit with the drive-start control failure that I've seen on other Lexus threads here. It shuts down some subset of the driver protection features and flashes annoying messages constantly (can't turn them off). The dealer says it's safe to drive until a software fix arrives from Lexus, but there's no ETA. So, hurry up and wait.
Anyone else have this problem with the NX 350? Is everyone else still waiting for a cure? Mostly it's annoying, so far, but it prevents me from using cruise control, which is an important feature.

I saw this on the RX forum and wondered what was different that the NX had not seen this yet, but it looks like the NX can get this as well.
You only have 82 miles on the car and this came up? I’m at 4300 and *knocks on wood* so far so good on that for me.

This system is used on a number of Toyota vehicles, not just RX and NX. Perhaps even all of them coming out of the factory these days. Its purpose is to try to prevent you from turning your local store into an impromptu drive thru. You know, drive thru the store front glass, knock over the shelfs with the car and then have the products you need fall into the car thru open windows. Clearly Toyota is against convenience!
I'm having a bit of a hard time believing that a software fix is needed to solve this given wide spread use of this system, I would think something isn't right with the hardware/wiring. My guess is somewhere there is some chewed wiring, blown fuse, faulty sensors, or hardware issue with the computer.

Yeah, only 82 miles -- this blew up on me the third day I had the car! I could only think of the time I sat at the salesman's desk looking at at listing of Lexus, #1 in reliability per J.D. Power. Oh well ...

Interesting. I guess my battery is fully charged, though, since there's no warning light. Should I do more to verify? Is there a way to test the 12v battery charge?

My 12v did die a couple days later. Had is tested and it was good. Charged it and I had not had the warnings either since either.
I am thinking about getting a 12v Battery & Charging System Monitor that you plug into the cigarette lighter to monitor 12v charge
