Default NX350 owners, what's your distance to empty ?

I want to ask all NX350 owner, not hybrids, what is your distance to empty? I want to ask this because I do mix driving with a avg of 22.9 mpg but never able to get over the 300 miles mark on distance to empty. I've taken my NX down to one tick left on the gauge and only could get 12 gallons into the tank while the manual states we have a 14.5 gallon tank.

When I fill up it always lands around 358-370 to empty.

BUT - I fill it all the way up to the tippy top of the filler neck. I can usually drive 120-150 miles before the first notch drops off the gauge.

What's your average MPG on your cluster? Whenever you pump, where is your gas level at and usually how many gallons til it stops? It must takes a lots of click to see gas at the top of the filler neck? When I pump now i stop when it clicks. On my BMW, I used to fill it until it gets to the fill neck when premium gas price was $5 and messed up my evaporate system that's when I stopped doing it.

I refill when there is about 20 miles left on the mileage countdown. I don’t look at the MPG meter but I do know I can usually squeeze in a bit more than 2 gallons more after the handle auto shuts off.

35 years of driving and about 30 new cars - I’ve always done it that way and everyone always tells me I’ll break something. Hasn’t happened yet and will most likely continue to do it. Just my choice.

I get about 440 - 460 out of a tank.

I get about 340 showing at fill up and about 25.6 mpg. As stated above it takes around 100 miles for the first notch to drop.

440-460 is not possible with the 275HP turbo

It sure is possible, have done that myself numerous times with a greater mix of highway driving in my NX 350 F Sport. That equates to around 7.30 litres per 100 klm using 54 litres of fuel covering 740 klms. In fact it can be a little better given i normally achieve a little under 7 litres / 100 klms while predominately on a highway.
Different story in fully city mode, 11 litres / 100 klm (25.7 mpg imperial) , roughly twice that of a hybrid model, but I don’t mind that given the better drive of the turbo (IMO) and petrol prices are the least of my worries.

Apologies for the fuzzy pic, but the best i've achieved recently was 380 miles range on the display. I hover between 29.4 and 29.5 MPG average.

If people are getting 360-380 and I am squeezing in upwards of 2 gallons when I fill it up all the way.... that adds up to 440

Now... my daily commute is on the NYS Thruway which is a completely flat road... 62 miles each way (124 R/T) and I set the cruise at 65 and put myself in the right lane and enjoy the ride.

YOU BET I GET 440-460 - I'd bet I may be able to get a little more.

I usually get around 765 KM on a fill, which converts to around 475 miles. Usually add 1 or 2 more litres after the pump shuts off the first time but don't go nuts filling the neck. The average in the dash display shows 6.4 L/100KM or just under 37 MPG. Glad I bought the hybrid!

We are discussing ICE motors only... not hybrid. The $6000 I saved off MSRP is a lot of gas

Yea! There are 693 threads with hybrid drivers trying to outbrag each other how good their fuel economy is. You guys can at least leave us this one, Sheesh.

My best tank so far was 7.4L/100km (almost 32 US mpg), but more typically (at least thru this summer, which was mild here) its usually somewhere around 8.5 to 8.9 (26-27mpg). I can easily do a lot worse though if I'm a bit naughty. I'm sure it will get a lot worse when winter bites us hard. I don't typically pay attention to distance to empty so can't remember that particular number.

That is combined city/highway and my city driving is not in heavy traffic.

Exactly my point - at 32MPG and putting in 16.5 gallons... the math is easy.

The gas tank only holds 14.5 gallons----------------------yours must be "custom made" if you have a tank that will hold 16.5 gallons.
