Car and Driver has and article stating "Lexus trucks were up 34 percent to an impressive total of 252,861 units. That’s nearly four times as many sales as Lexus cars racked up". Another article reflecting hybrids represent 34% of total sales. This is up from 10% just a few years ago.

I find the entire SUV thing kind of curious. I preface this by noting that we replaced our Acura sedan with the NX350h. The funny thing is that we are of a certain age and do not put on all that many miles in a year. So when the wife said it was time to replace the 10 year old sedan I argued the last thing we needed was a hybrid SUV and yet that is what we have and are loving it. I am old enough to remember when "station wagons" were all the rage and every family had at least one. Then at some point station wagons lost their desireability and largely went the way of the dodo. But the station wagon thing has been replaced by SUVs and I wonder how long these will be in vogue.

SUVs here to stay. Good job on the UX and NX sales! SUVs sell well these days. To demonstrate customers switch to SUVs, I found in the news, leading the SUV pack, (and car pack) MY will (in the next couple weeks or so) be officially best selling vehicle in the world for 2023. The article projects this based on an estimated 4th quarter earning report confirming 1.2m total MY sales, but turns out the data was even stronger than expected. It's actually 1.8m sales. god bless the usa
So we knnow cars are on the backburner. lets hope for a good 2024 SUV sales! I believe the 2023+ UX is the best Lexus (and the safest Lexus SUV) ever made, safer than new NX and new RX even! Well done UX team. HOpefully they can make more plug in SUVs as electrification will help sell

Interesting, that if you look at cars of the mid 1930's, they have a very SUV shape, except no rear hatch, just a trunk area. Car design has come full-circle.

I bought my first crossover SUV (Mazda CX-5) seven years ago. I had driven nothing but sedans for 20 years previously. It was a big change for me. Although, I did own a couple of trucks in the mid 90's but didn't keep them long. I now can't imagine owning anything other than a crossover.

Everything old is new again!
