I wonder if fake sound is coming through all the speakers? Is standard sound system speakers different than ML sound speakers with regard to fake engine sound being pumped into cabin?

I would prefer NOT to have fake engine sound in cabin, I’d prefer natural engine sound which will make cabin quieter.
Completely disconnect the right front speaker; problem solved.

YMMV,

Short of disconnecting the speaker I would like to remove this ESE Function.

I am actually surprised to find out NX450h+ doesn't have the fake sound.

It's not listed on the Carista website as something you can turn off for the NX, but once the app is running on your phone, there is an option to turn it off. Did it today along with the lane change signal from 3 flashes to 7. I suspect it can also be done at the dealer via OBD.

Can you provide a screen pic of this option on the app?

It's under Chassis & Engine.

Good news, thanks for the information! What other options does Carista provide for changing Lexus settings?I have the CarScaner program and OBD II adapter, they fine tune VAG cars, but for Lexus they can only read and reset errors, they cannot change settings.

There's a list on the website of what you can customize. https://carista.com/en/supported-cars/lexus/nx/2nd-gen

There's an overlap of what you can already do via the infotainment but also a few by OBD only.

Does this have to be done every time you turn car on or the setting in app stays keeps it on?

You only need to subscribe if you want the functionality to customize to always be available. There's a free trial with new app installs. I paid $10 for 1 month subscription and will cancel after. I don't need to keep changing settings. Reading codes will remain free.

It seems to me that if this 3rd party app can turn off the ESE then the dealership can easily do it as well.
