Default First Service

So I just got an automatic text message from the dealer where I bought the car that it has been 6 months since delivery and I need to schedule a service. First thing is that I somehow need to get my local dealer (the one I will be using) on the system rather than getting messages from the purchasing dealer. Second I assume this first service is a quick-and-dirty looksee by the dealer and perhaps not even an oil change (currently almost 3,000 miles on the odometer).

Correct, no oil change is included with the free 6 month service.

From my understanding, you get one free oil change and another service only. I was told that I could get the oil change whenever, but I only get one. I hope I don't have an issue with my dealer changing it sooner.

5,000 mile service is free a glorified tire rotation. 10,000 mile free glorified tire rotation oil change and change cabin filter.

Yep, no oil change on our 350h 5K miles service. Just tire rotation and 2nd key fob programming.
So I bought a oil filter from the dealer parts department, a 5 quart jug Mobil 1 from Walmart and took it to my local mechanic.

I thought it holds 5.6 quarts. I plan to do the first one in the 1000-1500 mile range. It won’t benefit me but will someone down the road.

Owners manual indicates 4.5 quarts with filter
We did the same. 1st oil change at 1k, then 2nd at 5k, 3rd should be at on Lexus at 10k.
We keep our cars until it falls apart so we maintain them regularly. Went through the same routine on cars below.

24 NX350h 6K miles (wife's)
17 ES350 41k miles (mine)
08 RX350 159k miles (my 17YO son's), as soon as my daughter gets her DL in 2 years, she will take the RX. Son will get my ES. My next car will most likely be a 8th gen ES hybrid.
