Default Mark Levinson Speaker Shuts off

Hello Club Lexus,
I am a new member in this forum as well as in the Lexus family. I recently purchased 2024 NX350 F-Sport Package with the 14-inch Navigation + ML Sound System. The car is great however, the sound system is causing problems. The volume range for this car goes from 0-65 (max). If I play music below 45, the speakers are great and no issue. But as soon as I turn up the volume till 48 or above, the speakers shut itself off after couple of minutes. At first, I thought it is Apple CarPlay issue, but no, there is no sound on the radio, no sound via Bluetooth, absolutely nothing. In order for me to restore the speakers, I need to shut off the car, come out, lock the car, wait for 10-15 minutes and then I am able to restore the speakers' sound. However, if I play the same music at a higher volume, the sound shuts off again a bit quicker than the first time.

I do not know what the issue is. The car barely has 1000 KM on it. It is making me crazy.

I think the technical term for this is "defective" parts (or assembly). The amp is cutting out due to too much power/heat, but this should definitely not be the case with a proper stock system. Time for warranty service. This is kind of typical with these types of electronics, they tend to last a few days/weeks or many years, but not so much in the middle.

Did you check your iPhone because there is a setting you can set the decibel rating not to exceed for ear safety. Maybe that is triggering the ML?

very unlikely that iPhone is triggering.

Agree, most likely defective amp or wrong actual ohmage on speakers (too low causing too high of amperage).

YMMV,

I went to Lexus, and they had to plug in a computer to diagnose the problem. With spekaers running, no error but as soon as the speakers died, an error code popped up. They said they will send it to headoffice and look at the code for diagnosing procedure. Lets see what they come up with.

So, the Lexus Head Office came back to me. They have concluded that the AMP has to be replaced. It has been approved to be claimed under warranty, however, it will be ordered from Japan, and it will take 30-45 days to reach here.

Great they found the issue but that's a pretty long wait.

This maybe one of those issue we all have to contact the dealers and Lexus head office to make sure this shut off issue gets resolved for everyone.

I barely have 600 miles and when the volume hits 50 it shuts off into safe mode
