Default Smartphone connect-1-ca4db Wi-Fi name pops up on iPhone

When the iPhones trying to connect to CarPlay in the car because after the update it only connects about half the time again.

I guess I don’t understand what that Wi-Fi connection is because it doesn’t seem to ever connect to it it just shows it in the listing every time the car starts up with the phone in the car.

No hotspot turned on on the phone or in the car.

I am guessing other people see the same thing on their smart phone when they are connecting to their car, maybe people can check.

Carplay uses bluetooth to negotiate a WiFi connection. Carplay runs over WiFi. The car creates a hotspot and the phone joins it.

Try redoing the Carplay pairing.
