Just learned the NX has all laminated windows, which can’t be smashed with emergency car hammers or devices used to break open tempered windows in case of an emergency like a crash or water submersion. Anyone come up with something we can keep in the car to break laminated windows?
I believe only the front windows are laminated, and the rear seats have tempered glass (look for the small printing on the side glass to see if it says lamisafe or tempersafe to confirm on your vehicle for each window).
I believe you can smash it, it just will take some effort to kick it out after the initial hammer strike. always have a plan and familiarize yourself with your car, what windows are tempered/laminated, their locations, emergency manual door pulls etc.
i just bought an emergency hammer for my tesla's laminated windows and i keep it in the storage bin. it's good to have in case you come upon an emergency to help someone else in need
