The extension is needed on the activity mount for most bike racks because the bumper is so close. You need a 6 inch extension on the activity mount to make it so the bike rack is far enough away from the back of the car to be clear. no big deal.

Default Draw-tite $199 at walmart.

Dealer such a ripoff. DRAWTITE- 4000 # CAPACITY 600# tounge wt spec. Far exceeds car capacity.
Installed at a garage that rents lift space for $30/hr. Took 30 min. Bolt holes are already there just need a torque wrench. Muffler must be temp dropped and tow bracket removed and discarded.
I do not have wiring in place. this is only for a bike rack and hold spare tire on long trips to the boonies. Walmart delivered to my house. $199.
If You can't DYI. Any auto shop would pop it on for far less than the dealer. Difficult to do without a lift.
Ever wonder the irony of the words deal and dealer?

Welcome to the world of Lexus parts, Lexus labor, and Lexus service, but the coffee is great, and the lounge is exquisite.

YMMV,

The Lexus dealership wanted nearly $1,200 for the hitch and installation. I purchased a Drawtite for $232 + $115 installation = $347. I use it for a hitch mounted bike rack. The only drawback is that I can't use the kick hatch opener. Not a big deal for me, though.

My installation looks exactly like yours but my kick sensor works. I can actually see the kick sensor when lying underneath. It is 5” to the right of center and attached to the bumper cover.

I pick up my 2025 NX350h tomorrow. I have had this on my Toyota Highlander when a cort hitch 2" receiver has a bike on it, the backup audible warning begins and remains on as long as the car is in reverse. Does that happen with the Lexus as well?

If I’m not mistaken, there is a menu item for disabling this. I’d ask you dealer at tomorrow’s pick up. Good luck.

Third Curt hitch on our three Lexus's two previous and current. Was concerned on my 2024 RX 350h how much it will stick out. Very pleased and did not lose kick sensor.

Can you provide the part number for this hitch, please? Also, if not too much trouble, could you post a side view from the edge of the car and a bit lower than the photo
you posted? Just want to evaluate how this one sits VS mine, which is a Drawtite and sticks down pretty far.

Here is the pic. Mine is a RX. Part number for that or NX? Payed on line $233. Lexus dealership charged $170 to install.

Thanks much for that picture. Helps a lot. Didn't realize yours was an RX, though.
