Default 1st Purchase: Need Help on 2022 NX350 or NX250?

Hi, y'all. My 2006 Jaguar XK8 convertible was just totaled in an accident. Now, I am torn between purchading a Jaguar F-PACE, a 2022 Lexus NX250 Premium or a 2022 NX350 Sport Luxury. I have as yet been unable to test drive the Lexus SUV's. Guess I gotta Uber! 🙄 (The F-PACE test drive was magnificent.)
I have always admired Lexus vehicles, but am ignorant to the joys, high points and/or whatever issues they may have. (I am fully aware of Jaguar's problems.) I am not up-to-date on hybrids, either, as I tend to own a vehicle for a long time and not keep up with what is currently out there.

Hopefully this will be my last auto, so for the cost, I need to purchase very wisely. My budget will allow for a nice 2022 NX250 AWD Premium or NX350 AWD S Luxury. Can anyone tell me if 2022 is a good one for these Models? Or, what are the best years, in y'all's experienced opinions, and years that I should avoid.

I am going on 8 weeks without transportation and choosing on my own without any support is frustrating! I will truly appreciate any advice y'all can give me. Thanks

I have a 2022 NX 350 non hybrid, so here’s my input. Size wise it’s fine for my wife and I. Not a lot of cargo space, so it wouldn’t be good for a larger family and the 250 is smaller. Fun to drive with good road feel, but not really sporty. Fairly quiet even with run flats. The biggest source of noise is the piped in engine sound. Well made and no issues in 2 years. Very comfortable with great tech other than the wireless charger of which many complain about. I love it and my wife enjoys being chauffeured around in it, so for us it was a great option. If you have any specific questions, I’ll be happy to answer.

Default For Me?

Thank you, but was this meant for me? What I am trying to find out is whether or not 2022 was a good year for the NXs. What I am trying to find out is whether or not 2022 was a good year for NX250s and NX350s. And if possible, what years are best, and which years should I avoid when purchasing my new (to me) Lexus NX350? 😄

Jatwell, that was good info on your 2022. I am glad you are enjoying yours. I thought about the 250, but I will probably go with a 350, too.

Are you aware of any years that I should definitely avoid?

Thought one of the threads about NX 2022 reliability might answer your questions. Also thought you might lean towards hybrid.😅 👍

They redesigned Lexus NX in 2022, so I would not go any lower. Other than that year after year they did some small upgrades and changes, so the later you go, the little better the car would be. I would not even look at 250, get yourself either 350 or 350h. You can even probably search on youtube for comparison, and what others say about them. Good luck

Ahhh, I gotcha now. I think I am going to stick with the regular old gas guzzler, lol. Thanks for trying, though. 😅 And, I'll go back over the links you sent me.

Yes, I definitely like the 2nd Gen's grille better. I think I have already decided against a 250. I am finding review after review after review on YouTube of Lexus NXs. But, I've gotten a damn headache trying to find ONE video that just says buy these years and avoid these years! 🙄😵‍💫🥴

Don't get a Gen 1 NX (2015 -2022) Get a Gen 2 ( 2022 - present). There is night and day improvements from Gen 1 to Gen 2. I have a loaded 2022 NX 350h and I love it. Any year is good and very few first year issues. Some people had problems with multiple user profiles and key card. I said I had loaded, but even base with no options is great. You mentioned 250 and 350. If were you I would get the 350h better mileage and about the same performance, Lexus is reliable and would be a good long-term car.

Good Luck,
MidCow3

Midcow3, thanks. I definitely want a 2nd Gen NX350. I'm not interested in a Hybrid, though. I had considered a 250, but decided against it. It is between the 2022 NX350 and a 2021 Jaguar F-PACE S. If I follow my head and lean on the side of caution, NX350 it will be. (But dang! That Kitty really can purr... quickly!)

2022 350 NX sounds like an excellent choice and IMHO a better long term vehicle than a 2021 Jaguar F-PACE S, Enjoy your Lexus

YMMV,
MidCow3

P,S. - Reline is the best color .... it goes faster and purrs louder

I mean, Lexus did try offering the UX 200 but it didn't do well in the US so they dropped it leaving the UX 250h ...so it wouldn't surprise me if in a few years from now they drop the NX 250, No one wants to buy a car that the manufacturer discontinues 3-4 years later. Right?
