Default 12V battery terminal covers

Yesterday I had the car in for seasonal service and complained that the 12V battery dies all to easily. They did a check (after warning me they would charge 1/2 hour labour if no fault found) and determined the 12V battery was indeed defective. It was replaced under warranty.

Today I was removing the winter tires from the cargo area and decided to look at the new battery. Seems they broke the red +ve terminal cover . I will ask them to replace that.

I noticed there was no cover on the -ve terminal. Would anyone here know if that is the way they come or did my dealership forget to put it back when they installed the battery?

No cover on the negative battery terminal, since it is the grounded side of the battery.

When I pulled the +ve cover to install the trickle charger, the cover also broke a little. But it doesn't harm anything as long as it's covered. But if it's broken by the dealership then ask them to replace it.
