Lightbulb Who Makes Lexus Windshields ? FYI

Who Makes Lexus Windshields ?
Lexus windshields are manufactured by various companies, and the replacement windshields can be sourced from different providers. Pilkington is mentioned as the primary manufacturer for Lexus windshields, and they produce the glass with the Lexus insignia, which can be purchased directly from Lexus or through other channels.
It’s important to note that Lexus operates independently from Toyota, its parent company, and has its own design, engineering, and manufacturing facilities since the 2000s.
In summary, Pilkington is the primary manufacturer for Lexus windshields, and the windshields can be purchased directly from Lexus or through other channels.

YMMV,

not a good sign considering past acoustic glasses on Lexus models have been rock solid reliable. I just check safelite and it only came up $370 [after market] and $634 for OEM. includes heater and auto rain sensor but not the heads-up. I paid about $650 for after market windshield for previous gen RX350. I don't think there is a need for or resetting the safety camera and light sensor? radar/lidar and other sensors are behind the grill and bumper which is very expansive to repair.

I know this isn't a big help to those looking for a windshield in the US but I'm here in Southern Ontario Canada and I was curious to know what my local area Lexus dealer had to say. '22 NX 350h with HUD built in Canada Aug '22. I needed to provide my vin to get correct p/n so my windshield p/n is 56101F6050, price in CDN is $1,213.73 plus tax (13%) plus install and calibration est of $500. They had one in stock at local warehouse and backorders have been taking about a month to come in recently.

Every piece of glass on my car is from AGC Automotive (same as image posted above by OP) which is stated as "a Japanese global glass manufacturing company, headquartered in Tokyo. It is the largest glass company in the world and one of the core Mitsubishi companies." on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGC_Inc.

The only exception is the rear hatch glass which is from Pilkington and they are "a subsidiary of Japanese company Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG)"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilkin...20Glass%20(NSG).

As many will be aware of Toyota and other Japanese based companies strive to do business with 'only the best' of companies around the world and especially ones that have roots in Japan. This helps provide synergy between them as they typically utilize the Toyota Production System / Lean Manufacturing methods.
