tow hitch kit question
i have a '25 NX 350h that i'd like to add a "tow hitch kit." lexus sells this kit--hitch kit (https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus__/To...W96078005.html)
(sorry, i had issues posting a hyperlink)if any of you purchased this kit, is it made by lexus, manufactured for lexus (if so, by whom?), made by draw-tite, or curt?
if made by the latter two, then i can purchase the same item a lot cheaper.....thx!

Pole Position
Every vehicle I buy a Curt hitch. Never had a problem with one. It $222. and it looks much less obtrusive than this Lexus one.

follow up: so, i decided to buy a draw-tite hitch from amazon, mainly because it appears to mount a little bit
higher behind the bumper and isn't readily seen from behind. dt's website indicated that they provide instructions
and a fastener kit. well, they forgot to include such items and i don't want to spend the time/$$ getting a $15 kit from
my local hardware store. dt tried to blame amazon for the poor shipping of the unit, but dt is the one who shipped it
to amazon, who then slapped a mailing sticker on it. i wouldn't recommend using amazon to purchase this item. i've
heard that u-haul sells the same thing with their own sticker on it.

Stick with Lexus
As a Lexus owner, I would rely on Lexus to stand by their product wherever it comes from. Added to my 2024 350h. Looks good, Wired properly. Maintains kick opening tailgate.

One question ?
Did you get the 2,000-LB TOWING CAPACITY*, ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED$160 option when you bought the NX ?
The package comes with an upgraded radiator and transmission coolers.
YMMV,

finally got around to installing the draw tite 76634 hitch today. i wasn't exactly sure how it would be installed, so i used a floor jack to support the disconnected exhaust and another to support
the hitch. tried strapping the hitch to the jack and that didn't work at all, a waste of an hour or so. best thing was to go underneath the car and hold the hitch up to the body so that my wife could
get one bolt installed. those conical washers are thick stuff! finally installed the rest of the bolts and reattached the exhaust hanger bolts. looks pretty good and will support the bike rack.

I have the same hitch. My kick sensor works most of the time, not unlike how it worked most of the time without the hitch. Yu need to position your foot more accurately, closer to the bumper cover as close as you can get to the hitch.

The Lexus hitch is neither a Curt hitch, nor a Draw-Tite hitch. Because the rear bumper cover must come off in order to install the Lexus hitch, it is a bit of a PITA.
The Draw-Tite is the better looking one of the three, IMO and it's pretty easy to install, as well. The kick sensor still works but, you have to be a bit more precise with your foot location.

I'm not sure why hitches are painted glossy black. And the while warning labels just jump right at you.
I spray the hitch with the same flat black paint for BBQ grill, covering all the labels I can not remove.
The tail of the vehicle looks much better with the hitch almost invisible.
