Chicagoland Heat - 2025 350h - AC
Had a scorcher today and the next two days will be the hottest of the year for us. How are those NX hybrids at putting out cold air in the cabin?

Cold Air
Current observation
RS Focus - Immediate cold air. Ford has the best cold air of any car vendor ( just not quite as good at other features, e.g. luxury, excluding performance)
NX, RAV4, Prius - hybrids - cold air within 15-30 seconds
Avalon Hybrid - Cold air sucks for the first 2 minutes, then good.
On some cars, ECO mode seems to shunt/delay/minimize HVAC including Cold air. On 2022 NX 350h even in ECO mode very cold air comes in 15-30 seconds.
YMMV,

Yeah depends on what mode you are using, I am always on ECO and everything cooling down just fine, the cooling seats I think help, and they pretty much cool your back instantaneous, then it may take a little while for the whole cabin to cool down, but it is fine with me. You can always disable the climate concierge and just manually blast the AC

Agree 100% with others I have a '22 350h and don't mess with Eco mode at all, just sit down turn on car and rotate that temp dial to 19 deg. Celsius and turn up fan all the way and cooling seats too!
I really don't see any perceptible difference in my gas mileage no matter what you adjust on the dash for HVAC features at all.
You got it use it! Turn everything down to your comfort zone and enjoy your Lexus on those hot summer days!
Only problem is the darn BLACK DASH and STEERING WHEEL gets soooo hot!

We have the same record breaking heat in S. Indiana. I use the remote start on the key fob and give the car a couple minutes to cool down. The Lexus has very efficient HVAC IMO

@romer you are correct, it is just my opinion from over 60 years of driving experience and some Fords along the way. Sorry, If I misrepresented it as complete fact.

A couple of cents from me...
My NS350h F-Sport handling Sydney heat (high 30's and 40's) very well, and seats ventilation helps a lot. Driving/power not affected, but noticed a slight increase in fuel consumption (instead of average 4.8L/100km it might go to 4.9 or 5 or even 5.1 depending of driving style) - my experience during last 2 summers.

when parking outside, definitely use the shades as the black dash absorbs heat like a water sponge and retains the heat for long time. I don't recall other dashes getting hot as the NX but it gets very hot quickly if parked outside and takes awhile to cool down the interior.
