First look at the 2022 NX
#421
Two small things I noticed in that first look video:
1) No lever or button in the truck area close to the tailgate to drop the rear seats. Toyota already cheaped out on this convenience feature on the RAV4, considering every other mainstream CUV has it, and I'm sad to see that it's carried over to their luxury division CUV.
2) Again like the RAV4, front passenger seat adjustability looks pretty limited on what should be a fully loaded model. I can't imagine it's only a 4-way powered seat like in a RAV4 limited but I'm not expecting anything more than a 6-way seat. It makes me wonder how adjustable the driver's seat is. Also 6-way with 2 way lumbar? Dare I hope that the thigh cushion can be moved up and down without moving the entire seat height?

The driver and passenger seat is a 8 way adjustable seats.

Seems like the F-sport version of the 450h+ isn't really worth it. Maybe the angle of the video was just bad because the electronic releases are both on the right side of the tailgate area in the luxury trim.

I know I am going to get hell for saying this in a Lexus forum...
I am fully aware of the reputation the Lexus brand brings with it. These vehicles are built like a bullet. They will last for years with minimal to no issues.
I am always completely unimpressed with the tech inside a Lexus. It's either outdated or there isn't enough of it.
I am torn between the new NX 350 Hybrid and a Genesis GV70.
The loaded GV70 is within $7k of a loaded NX 350, has waaaay more (and better) tech inside the vehicle. It's also, sadly, a gas guzzler that only takes premium fuel.
The NX 350 Hybrid would get better gas mileage (15MPG more), take regular fuel, and have slightly better depreciation, Service centers would also be better, I imagine, as Genesis is sharing them with Hyundai.
Genesis has a better warranty than Lexus
However, Genesis blows Lexus out of the water when it comes to a "fun vehicle" to drive. And that's my issue with Lexus. Their tech is always behind by several years. The interior of their vehicles look outdated. We don't even know how good the Mark Levinson system will be in this vehicle since the quality seems to differ from model to model and year to year.
I'm not trying to start an argument in a Lexus forum. I'm very much in agreement that Lexus is the better brand, but I am having a very hard time (outside of the fuel economy) of justifying the purchase of this vehicle based on tech. I really wish Lexus did a little better on this vehicle. No power folding mirrors? That's the least any luxury vehicle company could put in their trim.

Can we keep this thread about the new NX and not other models of cars. It gets harder to follow the thread after while.

Apologies. I started another thread here where we can compare the NX to other vehicles. Hopefully, the Moderators will allow it.

Here's a much better first look video than the usual dreck from Rati

This is a non f sport with luxury. Too bad power rear seats won’t be on the f sport with luxury.

Added. We'll get the Hybrid / Plug In and 2NX Vendor sub forums as well as the correct 2NX images setup in the next few days.

Oh no, did you see this, the pricing was not suppose to be released.
I sure hope he didn't get in trouble with Lexus. He seems like a really great guy and I'd buy from him if I lived there.
He was also the only one to give us so much info.

Everyone wants to be the first. Lol
Are these reviews going to tell us how it really drives and feels?
