Much better in person and the possible future for dealers
Took my 2017 RX 450h yestreday to get some service work. My dealer is a larger one in a very large metro area. In the parking lot saw a 2022 NX350h. It looks so much better in person then on line either with pics or YouTube. The info screen again is much larger in person but in a good way. Love the way it is lower built into the dash and slanted toward the driver. The wheels on this one look great. They gave me a 2021 RX 350 with the touchscreen. I am 6:4 and have the seat all the way back and all the way down. There is no way I can use it. Can't reach it especially the right half. It also looks much larger than the older version NX. My wife kept insisting it was not the NX just to large. It is one inch longer than the first generation and one inch narrower.
This is the exact NX we are looking for with the luxury package except we want the light interior. Bad news on the waiting list and salesman said will take a while. Good news is he said one we are not adding anything on to the MSRP and that any discount I would have received on the new one will get that back on the trade-in on wives 2017 ES300h. They have a used 2017 ES 350 with double the miles for $32,000 about $5,000 more then what previously would have sold for.
Their showroom is completey empty. Their new car lot is empty. The salesman made an interesting comment that this might be the new normal. Dealers pay a floor plan interest and on a vehicle on the high price side that sits for 2-3 months they can pay $2-$3,000 interest. In today's world dealers do not have that much profit margin on new cars. Can see them having a few of each model for test drives etc. and it becomes a order per customer world. Tesla does this now.

Let’s see what happens. Hopefully I can order my 2023 450h+ without a sunroof.

I would love to see the process change and do most of it on-line.
I've never bought a Lexus, so the experience might be different, but car buying can be really painful. I'm willing to pay a bit more for an easier and more transparent process.
And a 450+ without a sunroof, or moonroof, would be bueno.

Well, you are probably not willing to pay the "bit" more that Lexus of Sacramento wants, but the tax credit would exactly offset their ADM. They have a redline 2022 Lexus NX 450+ loaded arriving next week.

Go buy a CX-5 for half the price, it'll be more than half as good as a NX.

What's the point of having a tax credit then? The car is already marked up by the tax credit at retail. ADM basically doubles the mark up. And this is California so that $7,500 ADM is really $8,300 after TTL.
