Turn on the car, go to the settings menu, then Wi-Fi, then Wi-Fi (2nd choice after Hotspot), then turn on Wi-Fi via the toggle switch. You may be prompted that you'll be turning off the Hotspot, if that's on.
Once you've turned on Wi-Fi, you pick your network from the list of found networks, type in any password needed. and you're connected, which is shown by a Wi-Fi symbol in the top right notification section of the screen and a blue check mark in front of the network you've joined (in the found network list...should also shuffle up to the top of the list).
I'm actually not sure if the car maintains connection with the network after you turn it off. It seems like the Hotspot stays on for a while, but haven't timed that yet either.

Had to reorder NX
My NX special order placed 4 1/2 months ago got canceled by the dealer. "We were told to cancel all special orders, we can give you a refund or you can wait, and maybe we can get you one we are not sure". My special order was only changing the color of one of their existing allocation. I have 3 local Lexus dealerships and I reordered with larger a Larger Lexus dealer I should have used first. It will take 3-4 months, but I will get the car very close to what I want. They told me so far no cars have shown on allocation with "power-folding and heated rear seat"; I had sent them a configuration with almost everything. I said no, that is not a "deal-breaker" That option is even a little frivolous for Lexus luxury.
So all is well, I just have to wait a little longer.
YMMV,
