I just checked mine and it also came with 1050 without any update history. My build date is 1/23 in Canada with delivery 2/11/23.
I'm guessing the people who are just getting 1050 now haven't checked for an update recently?? Surprised it's not automatically pushed out or at least a notification to let us know.

Just had a quick drive since the update last night…didn’t notice anything new or improved (didn’t have any issues) however, I noticed the font is larger on the built in Lexus navigation for main roads/streets.

After some research over on the Tundra forum on the update. They have the same Panasonic HU 's we have apparently .
When asked why no 1050 for some, only 1040.This was the answer that was given.
I also see the 2023's have a superseded part number for the HU.

"1050 is the 2023 Model Year only. I confirmed with Toyota that the hardware in the 2023 headunit has some slight changes."

so I actually went in and spoke with the technology specialists at my local dealer. Apparently there are indeed minor hardware changes from model year to model year, or from model to model (for example NX and RX have the same Panasonic head unit). That’s because the electrical systems in the car are different in model years so the head units are different. Screen size, processor, resolution, that stuff—is all the same. It’s just wiring changes that constitutes a different hardware version.

Also, I was told that 1040 and 1050 are virtually identical. The only difference is 1040 is OTA; while 1050 is what comes from the factory, port, or if you take your car into the dealer to have them install the update using their systems. That’s why there’s differing version numbers. I was also told that the RX’s are on a completely different number and the reason is so Lexus can differentiate between models.

Lexus is supposedly working on making everything more streamlined. Their goal is to make uniform numbering updates for everyone and the system automatically updates what it can handle. Like iOS for example. iOS 16.4 is the latest update and everyone who has a non obsolete iPhone can download the same iOS 16.4 update. But of course some older phones won’t be able to handle/support all the features that an iPhone 14 will be able to, so they just won’t get the full iOS 16.4 experience.

Edit 1: I found this video from an update to the Toyota Tundra that also shows the new system update as 1050 and the video was posted a month ago. So it seems like there’s definitely another update in the pipeline. For the last update, Melissa from Northside Lexus and LSFT did videos showing the new update. Hopefully the same the comes for this.

I still haven't gotten the update on mine. Still says no updates. I see many in the US has got 1040. Not sure if anybody in Canada got 1040 yet. I know the cars are built in Canada, but will need to see how long does it take to trickle upgrade every car. Still disappointed with the lack of updates. One update per year is just not acceptable.

I had no notifications on startup screen or Lexus app, but going to SW update menu was able to invoke the downloads. Interesting, I did not actually see an option to update, but was poking around on version levels and download started without a confirmation screen to proceed. Strange.

SW version went from 1020 to 1040. No obvious changes or operation differences, so far.

BTW, not sure where with digital key SW resides, but I may try setting up the digital keys again. Hope eternal and heck maybe wireless charging will work-not! LOL

Easy download and install on evening of 4/6-------------that's where the "easy" ended. Most on this forum have the 350/450H, I have a 22 350 AWD LUX but the update should be the same for all. After installing I shut off and restarted about a hour later, that's when the problems started. Many/most of my and my wife's settings went to default so went thru and reset everything. I could not see any difference/improvement in the 1040 update. Nav still see's my car at the wrong address and etc. The real problem came up a few mins. later, the engine check warning, notification warning and 2 other orange warning lights appeared on the inst. panel as well as popup boxes with "take care to dealer for service" and 2 other popups. One notification related to the "advanced park" not working, don't recall what the other was.
I called the Lexus dealer this AM and set up an appointment for 2PM today. When I started the car to head for the dealer all the warnings etc. were gone and the inst. panel appeared normal. Called the dealer, service advisor pulled the car up and saw no problems and agreed it was not necessary to bring the car in. 1040 software update seem to be of no value or maybe creates more problems than if fixes.
Considering there are just a few NX owners on this Forum compared to the many thousands that aren't I wonder how the update is working in the world outside this forum.
If I have the car long enough for another update I will take it to the dealer to install. NX built in late 7/22 purchased in early 9/22----------------------1,937 miles to date.

Yikes! That’s definitely not good at all. I’m kind of glad it’s working now, but at the same time wish the dealer could have seen it and given some confirmation.
Hopefully you don’t run into any problems in the future. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I was able to update yesterday. No issues that I have noticed in the few drives we've taken. It took about 15 minutes to download on OTA and install (the install was the majority of the time)

Default Canadian update?

Anyone in Canada seen the update yet?

I've checked but can't find anything. Car says there's no new updates.

Though it would seem that the update doesn't do much anyway, so.

Nope, I haven't seen anybody from Canada saying they got the update - other than one saying they got 1050 version from the factory. I've been clicking everyday and still no update in Canada yet.

Thanks @lsft. A bit odd though. Vehicle is manufactured here in Canada. It's not too much to expect stuff from Lexus...
