Default NX450h+ seats not moving to the proper position

Most people probably already know about this but it took me a while to figure it out so here it is anyway!

I had programmed the seats and mirrors position for myself on button 2 and for my wife on button 3 (on the door). That worked fine. My profile is linked to my key FOB and my wife's profile is linked to hers.

Several times everything worked fine, but other times the car was restoring the seats and the mirrors to my wife's position instead of mine (and vice versa) and I could not figure out why.

I was driving (on my profile) and after a while we switched drivers without switching the profile. My wife pressed the door button to adjust the seat/mirrors to her position. When she stopped the car and pressed P, then it is her seat position which was recorded on my profile and next time I used the car the seat adjusted to her position, not mine...

Then I realized that the settings for the seats position are not linked to the programming of the door buttons but are recorded each time the engine is turned off and the Parking button is pressed!

I tried to reprogram this while parked in the garage with the engine ON and when I turned the engine off nothing was saved. Then I realized that I needed to shift to either N or R for a second and then press P to save the current settings. P is acting as the SAVE button. But if the car is already on P, nothing is saved, which is why I had to first shift to N or R... If you are driving somewhere this is not a problem, but if you are programming in your garage then the shift to N or R before pressing P becomes important, otherwise nothing new is saved.

Now that I have understood that the settings are saved each time you shut down the engine and press P everything makes sense!

I am sure this is explained somewhere in the manual but I had missed it when I started programming the Profiles...

When we left the dealership they had said there was a "bug" with the memory seat system and they had "hoped" we didn't have it. And we are definitely noticing some "inconsistencies" lol. I have been chalking it up to randomness, but now that you've mentioned this, it does seem to make some sense! I'll give it a go and see how it works.

Thanks for posting!
