Covering the Piano black near the shifter?
Been driving my NX for a couple of months already, one thing that has been annoying me sometimes is the piano black near the shifter. There are times that the sun would shine against it and hit my eyes. Is there something that we can do to cover that? Have folks tried some vinyl or maybe add some PPFs?
Thank you!
Thank you!

I would like to find a covering to prevent scratches of the piano black

When I had a 2013 ES with piano black on the center console, I did experiment a bit, and I discovered that, if you use a mildly abrasive automotive polish, like 3M Hand Glaze or Maguiar's Scratch X and a microfiber cloth, you can polish out some of the surface scratches (if they aren't too deep).

That's weird, had piano black on many cars and never scratched it?
If I were going to protect it and knock down the glare, go to a place that does vinyl wrap and see what they could do for you.
I don't think that PPF will knock down the glare.

Using a vinyl wrap is a good solution. Take a look at some old Tesla Model Y forums for good products. It was horrendous when the whole console was gloss blalck before they made it matte. Lots of people experimented with different wraps then.

Personally, I've just always put multiple coats of Klasse All In One on any new highly exposed to damage finish and then updated it 2-3 times a year, and this has always worked for me.

Personally, I'll probably look for a vinyl wrap, but there are some plastic covers starting to show up on AliExpress and eBay. I'm sure more vendors and more designs will be coming online over time.

I believe they now sell (and install?) a matte finish PPF that might work for protecting the Piano Black trim.
