Default Getting windows tinted today, will the HUD head up display be affected?

I read in the tint thread someone saying that they have the HUD and they put the tInt on the windshield what is called a eyebrow I guess and that the HUD display now isn’t quite as clear or something, my appointment is in six hours I’m wondering if I should pass on the windshield and just do the other windows?

Anyone else wanna give me their opinion please thanks, especially anyone who has done this who has HUD.

Not sure about the HUD.. Me...I would not do the eyebrow. The person selling you the tint should know if it's going to affect anything.

Not sure about US, but in Canada it is not legal to tint the windshield.

In the US, each state establishes its own rules regarding windshield tinting (and many other things.) It is illegal to tint the entire windshield in California, but many people do so anyway.

Hoping to get more feedback, one person here did say the windshield tint caused their head up display to be a little blurry. The windshield place said he didn’t understand why that would happen , and I’m just hoping some more people will talk about it so I can decide what to do. I suppose if I put it on and it did cause a problem it could be taken off and it would go back to normal but I’m not sure about that either, all this electronics and tinting is confusing for me.

Also on the blind spot monitor I thought there was an icon on the dashboard it said when it was on all I can find is the main screen where it’s either on or off but I thought there was also one on the dashboard itself.

I doubt you'll get much feedback from this specific car, but if you Google search something like "windshield tint affecting HUD," you'll get a lot of results. Add "Lexus" to it and you'll see more CL threads for other models.
