If we do it, we'll be trading in 2 for 1.

I had a life changing medical issue in early 2021 that triggered retirement, and also makes it much more difficult to get it and out of the Avalon, compared to the Kona, which is much easier. Also discovered that I'm not getting any younger or more limber!

Since we're both retired now, we really don't need two enclosed vehicles, so the 2019 Hyundai Kona Limited and the 2019 Toyota Avalon Limited would both be traded in for a loaded 350h Luxury, with just about all the options. Should be close to an even trade, although the local dealer says we're at least 6 months out for our preferred combination (Redline/Palomino) or (Atomic Silver/Palomino) so who knows what new and used prices will be when vehicles start showing up.

The Harley is literally being converted to a Trike right now, so that'll be fun.

My NX replaces my '04 RX330. The RX is sticking around though, it will become my son's car for college - at 201K miles it still runs great, which is why I stayed with the Lexus brand.

2017 Toyota Highlander Limited.

The kids have their own cars now, so no need for the third row and extra size that the Highlander had.

2018 Honda CR-V with 40,000 miles. Lexus gave me $25.00 more than I paid for it, including tax, tag, and title. Got my NX 350 for MSRP with no dealer ad ons or markup. I. A happy camper. Oh, and they sold the Honda for $2,000.00 more than they gave me, which was about 5K more than the original sticker price. Crazy times.

One thing that I appreciate about Honda/Acura is that that shopping process is so simple: Pick a drivetrain, pick a color combo, pick a trim level. Done. No pages and pages of options. Every manufacturer should follow this unless they build-to-order.

By comparison, shopping for NX is so complex so one has to understand in depth all the options and try to find a car that isn’t missing a dealbreaker while likely paying for options one doesn’t care about, even though it is theoretically possible to not have to.

Unfortunately dealer has nothing in a color combo with a drivetrain and package that I want to even take a deposit (350h luxury or 450h+, white or silver, palomino or black). So right now, I'm just waiting to even hear that they have something coming in so that I can put a deposit on it. In the meantime I'm just reading reviews of the cars. The more I think about, the more I lean towards the 350h -- no need to plug it in all the time/no need to install L2 charger, lighter weight, significantly lower cost since MSRP and dealer markup are both lower. Let's see if/when it happens.
Very wise move going from Acura to Lexus. We made the same move eight years ago and so glad. We both had ten Acura's and Honda's that were bulletproof. Back then Honda and Acura were always in the top six for dependability by J D Power along with Lexus. Around this eight year period something happened at Honda Motor. Acura is now the fifth lowest in dependability. Lexus over the last 12 years has been #1 ten times, #2 once and #6 once. No other car manufacturer comes close to this. Consumer Reports currently has Lexus #1 in reliability. On our fifth one with zero problems.

Replaced my 2016 ES 350. Loved my ES but given the inflated used car values decided to trade it for my new '22 NX 350 F Sport. No dealer adds or markups on the NX.

21' Ford F150 Lariat. Very much looking forward to the roughly 50% fuel savings with the 350h I'm picking up in 3 days.

Our NX 450h+ replaced a 2008 Jeep Liberty Limited with the sky slider. It was when Chrysler offered the lifetime maxicare warranty, so I was holding onto it because of the continued coverage, but it only got 18 mpg, rusting so bad the heat shield protecting the fuel tank disintegrated, the sky slider tension was loosening and there were no parts to fix issues anymore that when I found this beauty I was ready to swap it out.

I couldn't imagine trading out my truck. I have a 21 Ford F150 Lariat. I would be lost without it. It does have the powerboost hybrid which helps MPG some. I drive it hard and still get 21 mpg with a lot of city miles. Will park it more though and drive the wife's NX when possible.

Replaced a 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring. It was a nice vehicle, but plagued with issues. In 30k miles it went through 3 sets of brakes and 3 sets of struts. Plus there was oil/gas mixing. Plus it was also too big for my wife.

Replace 2020 NX350 with 2022 NX350h... got a deal from the dealer with "return the lease early" offer in January (no payment required for the remaining terms [my is 10 months left] + $3000 cash incentive + loyalty customer special interest rate of 2.4%)... so we go for it. Luckily I did that early as I heard the interest rate has raised to 4.4% nowadays after the loyalty discount applied.

2016 IS200t F-Sport w/19k miles. It was a fun car to drive but wanted more space. As my first SUV I'm still not completely sold on it but have to say its a very comfortable drive & the technology is top notch.

I wish we had more feedback like this one. If I can ever get an NX 350 F Sport loaded with F Sport Luxury pkg and ML (none to be found) it would be my first SUV and I’m also not sold yet (on any suv) I also had an IS350 sedan and have a BMW 335 sedan so I’m afraid I’d miss the sports car handling. Yet I’m getting older and want the step in height of an SUV. Still debating X3 with sport pkg or NX 350 F sport.
