Even if you have to buy the X1, given the current market, won't it sell for higher than what you have to pay? Or was the residual so artificially high when you leased?

Yes, most definitely an option! It’s got really low kms so very well may be worth more than residual and buyout fees, I’ll have to check market conditions later in the year closer to lease end.

Was also thinking to just buyout the X1 anyway and switch my order to the 450h+ but I don’t think I really want to wait.

2014 Volt. The Volt is a great car, but they don't make them anymore.

The NX450h+ is the same or better than the Volt in these aspects:
  • Gets about the same MPG as the Volt
  • Gets about the same all electric miles as the 2014 Volt
  • Is one of only two US cars along with RAV4 Prime that gets over 35 miles on electric
  • Is a 5 seater
  • Is an SUV
  • Is very quiet
In other words, the NX450h+ is a great car.
I originally paid a deposit on the RAV4 Prime in June 2021, but my turn has still not come. Then I made the NX450h+ deposit in January and got it a few weeks ago.

2020 Lexus ES350
19k miles
Great residual, low miles and premium resale value sealed the deal to move to the NX350h

I traded in my Tesla model 3 SR+ for the NX350H. The model 3 had almost 80k km, need new tires and windshield and had a $10k claim due to a rear end collision.

Traded in my 2020 Mazda CX-5 GT. Had 0ver 2 years left on my lease but thanks to the crazy used car market I got a $2500 credit from Lexus. Truth be told I loved the Mazda but I really wanted to get into a hybrid. Out of all the cars, I test drove the NXh was surprisingly close (in sport mode) in terms of driving dynamics.

One I can relate to. I replaced 2018 Volt with 450h+ exec package. Way more vehicle than I need but, I was looking for replacement for my soon to be 5 years old Volt. I am trying to rotate my cars every 5 years or so. This 450h was functionally closest that I could lay my hands on. Also, originally was looking for RAV4 Prime but, impossible to get.

My 2022 NX replaced my first car I had owned for 8 years, a 2008 Honda Civic Si 6-Speed Manual.

Just got the NX450h+ this week.

Currently have (on the chopping block):
2019 Audi E-Tron
2022 Model S Plaid
2022 Model Y Performance

Not sure which one will go, maybe none.

Very curious -- you have been with pure electric for a while but are now moving away to plug in hybrid. What's the reason? Is it because of the inconveniences of a pure electric drivetrain, or were you just looking for certain features that weren't available in a pure electric car? Given your stable, it doesn't seem like money is any object.

I figured this would come up.

I have been EV for awhile, owned 5 Tesla's a Chevy Bolt and the Audi E-Tron.

To be perfectly fair, I have enjoyed them all, I think they are fantastic cars--except the audi.

The audi has been horrific, and i'm quite certain it's a lemon. Has about 12 months left on the lease, and I don't know if i'll see it to term or let it go now. Driving the audi, the car will stop charging randomly overnight, and Audi can't fix it. Another more serious issue is that the battery discharges rapidly out of nowhere (most likely a bad cell) the car will drop from 180miles remaining to 20 and I can potentially be left stranded!

That actually happened to me about a week ago, and that's when I decided I should probably just get something that I know to be reliable. Have had only the best experiences with Toyota/Lexus in regard to long term ownership.

Tesla's are really great, but the build quality isn't top tier (The new model s is damn good though). I don't see myself not owning one until other companies can catch up on tech.

Taycan Cross Tursimo is also on my short list.

It’s amazing, but I don’t miss my ISF at all.

I love getting > 39 MPG, CarPlay, Mark Levinson (I had this on the F)

that’s hard to believe. Isn’t that an NA V-8? But good for you!
