Default Highly esoteric question:

I have set up a “home address” and a “work address” a few months ago on my NX450h. Works just great with the “Hey Lexus” feature.
Would like to change the work address. Three minds have worked on this, all with IQ above 90. Not able to do. Pls help! Thx in advance.

I believe you have to change it in the Lexus app and then send it to the car.

Thx LStoneX. Good suggestion…but…no. Just went through the many “account settings” on the Lexus app. There is a spot for “home.” Nothing for “work.” 😱😵‍💫

@Peterun the location to change it is in the app.

Go to the home screen, choose "Find", then choose Destinations
Within Destinations tap on the three dots to the right of Work and choose "Update Work". You can also "Remove Work" if you want to from the same spot.

That's where it is for me anyway. I'm in Canada

Can I ask a stupid vaguely related question? I assume you store these locations for the navigation system and maybe this is because I live in a not very large town but don't you know where you live and work? Do you need directions to get there?

I use CarPlay to do my navigation but the same reasoning would apply if I used Lexus nav. My commute has 2 main options for routes for commuting to and from work and while I do remember how to go on the routes without nav, one is slightly shorter than the other but is prone to traffic. So I mainly use the nav to figure out which route is optimal on a given day. Google maps also has route information like reported speed traps, car accidents, objects on the road, etc. More for traffic conditions than directions

Absolutely….the County of San Diego is vast…..and the freeway system is especially complicated. Traffic monitoring is especially helpful. I use the nav system daily.

I assumed it was because of living in larger areas and didn't think about the traffic variable. Thanks!!

Thank you Timdakeo! And everyone else who were so responsive to my question. Got it! Was this correction to my work address confusing….or is it me and my buds who were limited by compromised skills? Incidentally, as a footnote, since I couldn’t figure out how to replace my previously identified work address, I identified the new work address as a “favorite.” I was able to use “hey Lexus” and call up “favorite location.”

It would’ve been an easy cinch if I had not already identified my “work” address at an earlier time. The issue for me was changing and re-identifying my work location. Not an easy task for this here old guy!

Don't worry Pete, as a millennial born in '95, the technology and buttons within the NX sometimes even fool me!

Lightbulb Highly Esoteric ? Okay, If you sa so.

@Peterun

I am not sure how "highly esoteric" changing an address can be, but I am glad others were able to help you understand how to change your previously defined "work address"

Peace to all; I am glad I don't have to enter a "Work Address"

YMMV,

Not everyone that enters a work address works. Some of us merely use the name as a substitute for a second home address.
