The 2022 NX and Theft

I see that multiple layers of protection is good. If I am to look at deterring anyone to open the door other than breaking the window. What sort of layers of protection do we have for that other than these:
1) Disable key fob transmission when not in use
2) Putting key fob in reliable Faraday pouch
3) Cover the VIN
4) Not sure if NX 350h has an option to disable the “Access to Electronic Key” in the door setting (Maybe someone can confirm that)
Anything else? Please share.

Also in the USA, is it legal to cover the VIN? Or it is just a convene display for a dealer/cop/service/tc?
Thanks!

Never thought of the VIN as an attack point. How does having it covered help? I have always assumed a steal was pretty impulsive- see the opportunity and take it. A typical thief would not care nor even bother to look at vin?

How do you actually insert the business card from inside of the windshield down to cover the VIN? I tried a piece of paper and it is too thick and there is no gap between the windshield and the front dash to cover up the VIN. Do you have the 2022 or 2023 model of NX?

Been using offgrid’s faraday pouches which are made well and also perform quite well.

Hold lock button and press unlock twice turns off the key fob from transmitting.
Press any key to turn it back on to get in vehicle.

I just learnt that our key fobs stop transmitting after 30 seconds of sitting on a table. I tested it and seems to be true. Can someone else test and confirm?
UPDATE: I re-tested it again, and I don't think our key fobs stop communicating with the car after 30 seconds. It look like it is the distance from the car that makes it look like the key fob has stopped communicating with the car. But if I leave the key fob close to the car door, even a minute of not moving the key fob the car door still can be open.

I think ILGA is like a kill-switch but not sure if that will void the warranty or if any OTA updates will cause any issues?
As of today, I think the headlight thief (CAN Injector) is the most common way to steal a car aside from the keyfob transmitter. https://www.autoblog.com/2023/04/18/...method-update/
You can google for that and you will see a lot of CCTV video how they do it. They target most RX350 (biggest demand) but can be done to any cars out there. They buy the Pi-device off the dark web market and it only takes 10mins the most to drive your car off the driveway.
Best course of action is to park inside the garage (period). But ILGA seems like a good solution as well.

Could you test and find out what is the distance that key fob still able to reach the car? What is the year and model of your car? Thanks.
