Default Towing Capacity - change to Monroney sticker description

When I bought my NX350h, it came with the $160 option listed as 2000 lb Towing Capability. I noticed on newer Monroney stickers, it now contains the following disclaimer: "may require additional accessories." This seems to me to be an admission that the sticker on my car was inaccurate/incomplete. I wonder if Lexus is going to offer any compensation for this.

Lexus should also add a disclaimer that the $450 Wireless Charger does not work very well with newer Apple iPhones.

I've always wondered what the $160 actually includes.

From my experience with Toyota/Lexus however is they are covering their behinds. If you want to tow you are going to have to add a wiring harness and a hitch to the tune of $4-600.

I believe the 'package' includes the wiring to the bumper that you plug the hitch wire harness into, and possibly the tranny cooler. If you look at the package online, you'll see the standard disclaimer "Towing hitch, receiver and mount are sold separately."

I hope you're right, having a wiring harness already installed from the from the front to the back saves a lot of teardown to install. However since the 350h has it's battery located in the floor in the back, I wonder if the this harness is attached to the battery already. Well, enough speculation.

I hope someone here posts their experience with a 350h. Mine hasn't even been built yet.

While you wait for it you could take a look at some of the older threads in this forum, there's at least a few about installing tow hitches, both OEM and others....also lots of folks have gotten 350hs, sharing their feedback. I seem to remember a post about an NX without a tow package installed and what that meant.
