Default Lexus NX 350h and high-voltage cable corrosion issue like Toyota RAV4?

Hi,

I put a deposit back in March for a Lexus NX 350h Luxury (Atomic Silver / Rioja Red) and I will receive a 2023 around Nov 15th.

Do you know for sure that the Lexus NX 350h is not affected by the same high-voltage cable corrosion issue than the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - the famous cablegate .
I'm based in Quebec and I just want to make sure that I won't have to deal with this issue. I have seen an article this weekend (see link below, sorry in French) saying that a class action lawsuit was filed in Quebec and it will include Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, Prius Hybrid and both Lexus NX350h and NX450h.

My dealer recommended me to call Lexus Canada when I have mentioned it.

Thanks

See this thread. The consensus seems to be that it's basically the same issue.

I took a photo of my NX450h+ and they added a cover to reduce the high-voltage cable from getting splashed. But it doesn't solve the problem, but definitely delay the cable corrosion.

i wonder if the NX also got the updated connector the rav4 did that has opening so fluids can drain? they opened it up in newer builds (right picture)

Another reason not to buy a first year model car.

And if you do, buy the extended warranty

This isn't a first year issue. Toyota has been kicking this can down the road for a really long time and they've still not fixed it.

Has this issue been fixed on the 2024 model?

AFAIK, Lexus took the easier route for this issue with newer RAV4s and it's the same with our 2NX.

They basically pre-drilled a hole in the cover that allows any collected fluids to drain out from below. Not a very sophisticated fix, but it gets the job done. Then like @lsft mentioned, they added a splash guard to further reduce the risk of water getting in there anyway.

Water drains = water does not collect = corrosion risk greatly reduced

This is not a first year issue and people really should stop treating it as such.
