First, I have NOT received a letter from Lexus. My 2023 NX450H+ Base was built in January 2023, and I picked it up 7 April.
Below is a screen shot of Key FOB FAQ's my dealer gave me at delivery. Based on my dates above I don't expect to hear about my 2nd FOB until a TBD date but definitely after September this year. Hope this helps you.
I picked up my 24 Lexus NX 350H earlier this month. The sales rep advise I probably won't see the 2nd key fob until Q1 2024. I'd be notified by mail to go in for programming.
Took delivery in February 2023. Just received notice through the Lexus App that second fob is available. Will call dealer tomorrow to determine process - my guess is service appointment is required for fob programming.
There is a document at the link below that discusses the phases for delivering second key FOBs. If your NX was built in Japan before 1/1/2023, then you would be in Phase 1 of the rollout and notifications will go out in July 2023 (or now). If it was built in Canada before 1/1/2023, then you are in Phase 2 for September 2023. I am in Phase 2 for my RX. Almost a year after purchase.
Is it a norm now to get a single key only due to chip shortage? Did anyone receive only one key?
It's only the "norm" with Lexus because of the tech overkill with the new interface. Buy any other car with memory settings and you will receive two fobs. I purchased my wife's NX in September of 22 and was told at closing I would receive 1 fob----------------said thanks and have a nice day, the second fob appeared before I could get out of the showroom. Wish I would have keep going.

I think Audi is onboard with 1 fob. It's the latest trend.
We got one key fob and a digital card on both our cars. Still waiting for the 2nd key fob for both.
I really like the key card. We each have a key fob for our car and a key card for "the other car". I'm not sure how it would work if I carried both key cards in my wallet. Seems like that would have some kind of interference issue.
Just took delivery of a 2024 NX 450h+. In order to get the options and color desired + no fees, no markups or no dealer add-ons, we purchased from a nearby state. Had the car shipped to avoid putting on extra miles.
The car arrived in good condition. When I pressed the carrier for the second key, he explained that he had asked the same question when picking up the car from the dealer. I immediately asked the dealer and they replied that's correct -- only one regular key fob though you do have a second manual key. Also explained that Lexus will be sending you a letter in by regular mail. While I can get into the car with the manual key, not clear who to start it without a fob. The dealer blamed the one key on the "chip shortage."
No mention of only one key until after the deal was done. Our experience on previous Lexus vehicles has always been favorable, but this seems shady.
