One key fob :-( (Merged single key fob issue threads)

1 fob and last minute surprise is real BS. I do not have a credit card key and the Lexus app does not work.

I just picked up a 350h in the middle of this month (July 2023). I recieved one key, and a digital "key card" that is supposed to work just like a key. However I believe this card was part of the Lexus Digital Key option, that IMO is a small fortune for what you get. Maybe there is more to it but it just looks like a cash grab to me.
The dealer said that cars that people recieved in Dec and Jan are just getting the 2nd key now. So figure about 6 months for that second key.

When I got mine last November, I got two keys and the Card thing.
I guess the chips ran dry?

If you walk into any Lexus dealership today. They will sell you a key that works on your car. Be it just like the factory ones. Or a valet style or the thin credit card type.
It's too late now since you took delivery. But all you had to say was
" I will give you a check for 70.000 dollars. When I have two keys "
Trust me. The dealership will find a key that works

Just took delivery of a 2024 NX 450h+. In order to get the options and color desired + no fees, no markups or no dealer add-ons, we purchased from a nearby state. Had the car shipped to avoid putting on extra miles.
The car arrived in good condition. When I pressed the carrier for the second key, he explained that he had asked the same question when picking up the car from the dealer. I immediately asked the dealer and they replied that's correct -- only one regular key fob though you do have a second manual key. Also explained that Lexus will be sending you a letter in by regular mail. While I can get into the car with the manual key, not clear who to start it without a fob. The dealer blamed the one key on the "chip shortage."
No mention of only one key until after the deal was done. Our experience on previous Lexus vehicles has always been favorable, but this seems shady.
Has anyone else received only one key?

There's a "so called" chip shortage for the fobs because of the tech overkill on the new NX and RX. Have you ever owned a car that you had to put your finger over a sensor on the door handle to lock the car, that's not only tech overkill but just plain stupid. Apparently a proximity fob is to simple.

Took delivery on my wife's 24 NX350h (Japan built) on 4/23/23. Only 1 key fob came delivery, the Salesperson did informed me on this before the purchase.
Received an email from Lexus Corporate on 5/17/23, saying they are working on the 2nd fob but no definite date.....it is a waiting game now.
