Gas Gauge Issues

Lately when I fill up my 350h the gas indicator only shows about 3/4 tank and range of ~340 miles (normally ~500 miles). Then I think maybe the pump cut off before it was full but when I stop to top it off it takes less than one gallon. This has happened twice and I only have 1500 miles on the car. Anyone else experienced this or do I need to reset something?

If you fill it up before it's on the low side and especially when you're just doing a top up, it is possible to confuse the range. I put $7.00 in one time because I was at Costco, and the range did not change at all.
Range varies on fill ups from 320-404. I just looked at the fuel meter, it seemed more accurate. I don't think you are the only one with strange readings after adding fuel.
Cheers on the new NX

I never had any tank filling issues on my 16'RX (or any of the other 11 Toyotas I've owned). I posted my 350h issues on this thread:

Yeah I have owned 15 or so Lexus and Toyota vehicles n the last 25 years and I have never had this issue before. I currently also have a Tundra with no fuel gauge problems. I am a little OCD so I rarely let the tank get less than half full. Time to talk to the dealer.

There have been complaints about similar issues with apparent fuel tank capacity, the fuel gauge, and reported miles until empty with the 5th generation RAV4. Toyota did issue a TSB which required replacing the fuel tank. Some who have done the tank replacement have reported that it fixed the problems. Others have said that it did not do so.
My thinking is that the fuel tanks (for both the RAV4 and the 2nd generation NX) are made of a plastic-like material that can change its shape with changes in temperature, pressure, etc., and that can cause apparent changes in the tank capacity, what the fuel gauge shows, and what the miles until empty reading display. I have a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid, and, at some times when I fill up, the tank seems to fill completely, and the fuel gauge shows the fuel level to be just a bit past the "full" mark. At other times when I do a fill up, the pump seems to shut off a gallon or more before the tank is full. I have not requested that Toyota do the tank replacement. Instead, I've just learned to live with it the way that it is.
