Whenever driving over a bridge in our 350h the screen goes to night mode immediately turning dark. Even for fairly short bridges the screen will switch sometimes right after exiting the bridge and then immediately go back to daytime mode when exiting the bridge, very annoying. Any way to adjust this so that night mode only starts after longer periods of darkness? It also sometimes happens when driving under a large canopy of dense trees. I've never had a car that did this odd behavior before and just doesn't seem right.

 

Mine too. You can change the sensitivity of when the car considers it dark. Think it’s called automatic headlight sensitivity in custom settings. Play with that and see if it helps. I’m not sure you can change the “instant” nature of it happening.

 

When ours was in for service, I asked if that could be adjusted because it also constantly flashes from dark mode to light mode right at dusk and I find it very distracting. I was told that it is functioning normally and the screen is based on whether the headlights are automatically turning on and off.

However, in looking at the list of Personalized settings for the NX (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...or-nx450h.html), I see:

Instrument lights dimming sensitivity
DARKEST / DARKER / *NORMAL* / LIGHTER / LIGHTEST

Instrument lights restoring sensitivity
DARKEST / DARKER / *NORMAL* / LIGHTER / LIGHTEST

Has anyone changed that setting and does it make a difference on the screen, or is it just limited to the instrument lights?

 

i believe you can change to dark mode or light mode by not select automatic. i have set mine to dark mode.
