Default EPB Noise Related issue

Hi all,

I've noticed that in the last few thousand miles, what I think is something having to deal with the electronic parking break, has started to make some noise. When I slow to a stop if the road isn't so smooth there is a squeaky rattle that comes from the breaks. At first I thought it may be a strut issue, but now I'm thinking it's the EPB as I only hear it when I've got my foot on the breaks and am slowing to a stop. It only dies it if the dampers seem to be being depressed.... I hope this kinda makes sense. I had the car in for my 20K service and they told me that's normal, however, it's a pretty audible noise. I left fairly annoyed, especially when I got to the car and saw that they didn't wash or vacuum the car out, which is something I feel like Lexus should always do with any service as a way to make you feel better about paying more and going to the dealer and not someone else for service.

Really though this thread is really just to ask if anyone else is experiencing any noises from their EBP that you have, or had remedied by the dealer.

Thanks! I think this is just when you put it into park, as the person notes. Mine does that too, but that's pretty normal I think to hear the weeeee noise of the break activating.

The parking brake is intended to hold the vehicle in place when PARKED. Therefore the EPB is NOT in use at any time when the car is in motion or coming to a stop. Whatever problem you have is not related to the EPB.
