Battery tender

Battery tender
Hi All,
Just purchased a 2022 NX350. It will have longer storage times without use. Looks like the cigarette lighter is not "always on". Anyone have any recs on what kind of battery tender to use? Have used CTEK hooked to the battery directly for all my other cars, but they weren't as high tech as this one. Thanks!

Schumacher is what I use. You don't need a "high tech" fancy one for Lexus... Mine was like 60 bucks at the auto parts store. These will still have the "top off" trickle mode once the battery is fully charged. So it won't just keep trying to charge once its reached its full charge. It'll simply top it off with a trickle charge to keep it at its optimum condition. I leave my Lexus hooked up to it every single month for 2 weeks out of the month. Never had any issues or problems.
My neighbor does the same thing for his ISF..and his battery charger is even cheaper than mine.

With the chargers, there is usually a short cable that can be permanently attached to the battery with ring terminals and a quick connect plug run out to the grill. Then when you want to charge, you don't have to open the hood and hook up alligator clamps to the posts, but simply hook up the in-line, quick connect wire from the charger to the exposed cable. The quick connection from the car usually comes with a cap to keep it free from dirt.
Doing this way means you don't have to open the hood if it's hard to reach or is outside and bad weather. If you get a battery tender that is waterproof, like the one linked below, you can use it even in rain as long as you don't get the connections wet.
(I can't make the link work, so go to Amazon and search for this one.)
