Matched up my 100,000 mile 2015 NX200t f sport with the new model and fell out of my chair. Almost 6 figures in Australia for the equivalent fully loaded model. Almost 25-30% increase.
The improvement in the NVH is extraordinary, drives more like an Audi than an Lexus. Engines are OK. Like the new hybrid.
However, thats about it.
The interior is drab. Lots of piano black and a big grey slab of dash for the passenger. The operating system is OK but prefer the previous generation just letting it run apple carplay. Not even a fully digital dash available on the new RAV 4.
What about the electronic doors? The biggest problem with the NX/RAV 4 combo is the failure of door lock actuators. Can’t wait when these locks fail.
Volkswagen is already getting rid of the unmarked touch steering wheel buttons.
Don’t get me wrong, its a good car but 6 figures worth?
Lexus has also dramatically increased its servicing costs ($1700 for 100.000 mile service) and am now paying for a replacement service vehicle for the first time in 12 years.
The key is six figures in Australia. Our 350h with HUD 14 inch screen and almost every option was $52,000. Getting 40 mpg in the winter months. It drives like a dream. IMO best looking SUV. Interior is gorgoius and blows away the previous generation. My salesperson says a long line of previous NX owners waiting for one. Alex on Autos gives the NX an A- on ride, A- on cabin noise, A+ on gas mileage and an A in ride. Those grades puts it on the dean's list. Asked my wife and friend that also bought one both three months old on a scale of 1-100 how much do you enjoy it without hesitation both said 100. The NX is Lexus's #2 best selling model and could surpass #1 the RX. Lexus by far is the lowest cost to maintain luxury vehicle. Add it is the most reliable year over year most dependable compact luxury SUV.
I got a 2023 ES300h with Premium Package in December for 48,500 USD and a comparable NX hybrid would be around 5,000 more right now. Looking for a car for my wife but I agree the NX isn’t the best value proposition on offer from Lexus right now.

Very subjective answer from me but my two cents like everything comes down to what things you prioritize or like and what makes you happy. I wouldn't be happy with that increase either but market conditions change for better or worse. I don't know the Australian rates of exchange but read sometime last year there were even crazier wait times compared to the USA. Looked at all the German competitors and with the same things optioned out and they were always more expensive than Lexus. Looked at GV70 and RDX but they weren't hybrids either and did not like the service centers where I lived to get maintenance in them. There isn't a perfect car ever however reliability was at the very top for us, with technology a second. Didn't consider Fsport because of seat ergonomics and it not being offered on the 350H like in some other countries. I love the electronic door handles because they are static on the outside. I understand and appreciate the rational with the tech and car is garaged so fortunately don't have the issue with frozen handles. I hate it in my current car when people pull on them way out and snap it back like a rubber band, makes me cringe everytime with the noise! Same goes for interior design of the 2nd gen NX, test drove the 1st Gen years ago and wasn't impressed by the layout, tech, and interior design based on what was in the market that time.
*Edit* Okay 100k in Australian is roughly $68k USD. Didn't expect the 30 percent increase to be that much!
Part of the pricing issue is the state of availability of cars in this time of component shortages. There are no deals, no promotions, nothing. When we bought our 2020 RX350 in November 2020, Lexus Canada still offered discounts ($4K) on previous generation models and you could find dealers that would sell you a new one at 3% over cost. Those days are long gone; just paid full price for mine, no negotiation as the next guy in line was willing to buy. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't have bought now. It's the same across all makes. Try to find a Rav 4 for instance. 2 year old models are selling for the same price as a new one. Used hybrids are more than list for a new one. Primes are crazy! I see a local dealer with a 2022 NX350h Executive for $73000.00! That's more than I paid for my 2023.

All (Japanese market?) NX models will see improved body rigidity in the front and rear of the vehicle, along with adjustments to the suspension and steering stability. The NX 350 will also be getting a transmission adjustment to improve torque response during acceleration.
A more visible change happens in the cabin — the interior color accent will now extend to the door trim, glove box, and centre console.
Wow this looks so much better. It would appear this change (especially the passenger areas) was Lexus listening to the negative feedback. I remember when it was first released and so many people were saying the passenger side was too bland and needed something to break up all that black area. They were listening, it just took 2 yrs. I’m actually happy it happen this quick.
What doesn’t make sense to me is why would Lexus leak this info in March 2023? I was always under the impression that car manufacturers don’t do this in order to avoid losing potential 2023 sales. Unless these changes are happening very soon (meaning in June or July vs Nov/Dec)
I said this before but when I bought my 2007 IS 350 I was invited by JM Lexus to attend a dinner round table with about 8 other new owners. They had the gentleman that designed the new IS there too with an interpreter. It was incredible because they wanted our feedback on the vehicle and what we liked and didn’t like, how could we improve or just how we felt as owners. The dinner was top notch and they gave us gifts from Japan. It was a memorable moment I will never forget. It was my first Lexus and I was blown away at how much they valued their customers opinions.
Per other threads on the NX it looks like the '24's are coming out early as dealerships are advising people waiting on their vehicles that they will be getting a 2024. I would guess they are probably in the process of switching to the new model now, since it looks to be just cosmetic changes.
This is coming from someone who likes only light color interiors and would never buy a vehicle with a black interior. I much prefer the 2023 over the possible new look. I want the glove box to blend in. Makes the front dash off balanced.

I definitely understand what you saying. I personally like it and feel like it’s tastefully done. I actually would have been just as happy if they added some colored stitching (same color as your interior choice) that ran along the passenger dash that would add a subtle change to help that bland area.
I feel this change will look great on the circuit flare red/black interior f sport.
Probably my imagination, but it almost appears that the Piano Black finish on the console is gone in the 2024 Japanese version?

Can confirm that Canadian models will have the matching interior colored glove boxes, which means most likely US models will also get the new look.
If that’s the case, why haven’t they officially announced an update in the US? If Lexus will soon stop producing the 2023 NX why haven’t they released info on the 2024 if production is starting in a matter of months?
